But the NBA is a business. In businesses you can be transferred to locations. Being traded has some weight to it tho cause of the connotations. He is an employee. If I sat out from work I wouldn't have a job. No time no pay. It's fair to say actually. It's just en lement and ego...
Without its players those employers would be unemployed themselves. It always goes both ways I think.

EDIT: I used to lean more towards the owners side but after DeRozan got traded , I realized that Loyalty doesn't really exist anymore. DD was as loyal as you can get and got promised not to be traded and look what happened. After that I don't care about who's right or who's wrong. It's a business and I appreciate the players more than the white dudes wearing suits.

my guess is recently, by GSW. Westbrook and Durant did it in 2012

i remember when pippen and jordan did it
My money is on DD/LMA when they both catch fire. Might take an overtime to achieve it, but I'm confident that it could happen. Not sure if that's a good thing or not, but it sure as would be entertaining to see that.

They came close against the Lakers, DD had 32 and LMA had 37.

Your trying to generalize employer and employee in a sense that they are on the same terms ethics wise but really they are not. Good businesses will be around a lot longer than the employees. Every great knows it’s important to honor those who came before you and made the business what it is today. You think it’s fair for employees to treat their employers how they treat them but at the end of the day it’s business. But employees sitting out on the job isn’t right. Employers can’t sit lol, they have a business to run. Those that don’t work don’t eat... just because someone makes a decision you don’t like doesn’t mean you can run away from it especially if you signed a contract. Why so many divorces nowadays....... tru it goes both ways cause of the nature of the NBA and it’s branding of stars. But as partners they should be able to accept responsibility for being the face of the league. It’s bad business. If your mad at bad business practice that’s one thing but if there’s one thing we do here is good business practice hate it or love it. Professionals know what I’m talking about. DeMar took it personal like so many do but journeymen of the league understand it’s a business. LMA mentioned it last year. Still bad practice doesn’t include sitting out when you make millions of dollars. Or it doesn’t include sitting a season out to have surgery when you intended to play. It’s cheap. It’s like when a women threatens to take away sex cause you don’t do something she wanted.

There's no loyalty anywhere else in American society, why force athletes to stick where they don't want to be? It sucks for the fans, but that's the way it is now.

It goes both ways I guess. Some teams don't honor the players contracts too. Prime example is DD in Toronto. He was the only player in Raptors history to come out and say that he wants to retire a raptor. He said that 2 weeks prior to being traded, and he was also promised not to be traded.

    I think it's only fair.
Uh, that's not a contract. That's no different than Kawhi saying he wants to retire a Spur and then pretending to be injured. What matters is ... what is in the contract. If you contract to play for a team, you should honor that contract. And if a team promises to pay you, then they should pay you want you are contractually owed.

Facts. What if teams just decided they didn’t want to pay a player anymore? Like an any day whenever I want amnesty. Yo Pau you sucked last night we’re gonna forego this check lol

Yeah it's too bad what happened between Kawhi Leonard and the Spurs. No one ever saw that coming if we go back to 2016-17 season. There was obviously something behind the scenes that went on and we just don't know about it. From a business stand point, you do what's best for the organization long term even if that means trading away a disgruntled superstar. In this case, the Spurs FO made the right decision by investing in DeRozan. I'm pretty sure the Spurs at one point had the intention of repairing the relationship with Leonard, but to no avail.

Again IMO the players are way more important than the owners. The owners play a huge role in the business but are not the product we pay to see. But I do think the players are more spoiled these days. Look back at Wilt Chamberlain. He made 2.5M in his entire career. The average star makes that in 10 games. I know 2.5M back then was worth a lot, but not by huge margin. 2million in 1960s is an equivalent of 16-20 million today.

Sorry bro, I don't know what I am even debating here tbh lol. But I do rather take the players side.

In other news, Jimmy's on the move soon. Quitting on his team like Kawhi. Today's athletes

What a . He shouldn't get paid for the games he's sitting, instead of being listed with some fake return-from-injury bull .

Yeah I’m over it lol. But DeMar is special. It’s not just his talent but he legit has a good heart and has a lot of heart. This city is perfect for him. Hopefully he doesn’t leave us lol. But no doubt he’s a special person. Just gonna enjoy while we have him and hope PATFO can build a winner around him.

The Twolves should just list it as "Return from injury management" and make the Kawhi connection complete.

As a DeRozan stan or should I say a DeStan.. I can say with so much certainty that he will want to stay. San Antonio is a perfect fit for him by the looks of it and he is one of the most loyal players you will ever find. He will be a 31 year old free agent in two seasons and the big question will be, where are the Spurs Standing. If they are hitting a dead end and are on verge of a full rebuild, then I can see Spurs simply letting go off Derozan. If it ever comes down to whether DD wants to stay or not, I am safe to say that he will want to stay and retire as a Spur. Two years from now, LMA will be 35 and I would hope that LMA can give the Spurs a discount. He will not be an all star anymore I think, but he might still contribute in shorter minutes, simply because he can shoot the ball. I mean if a 50 year old Pau Gasol can still play then I sure as think that a 35 year old LMA can still contribute with his shooting.

The big question mark is can the Spurs find another star player to play next to DeRozan. I believe DeRozan will still be an all star until 34. He never had any serious injuries in the past and he takes care of his body. Plus he does have that old mans game and doesn't rely too much on his athleticism. Hopefully the Spurs can find a hidden gem in the draft as well.

I sure hope not. As much as I'd love for the Rockets to mortgage their future, I'm rather enjoying watching them crumble to start the season.

LOL, I'm just saying since they're one of our older players and he can't seem to go a season without resting somebody at some point.
