Stimulus and tax cuts are both expansionary policy with similar economic effect. Dems love stimulus, GOPs love tax cuts. Both are equally hard to pay for for the government. But tax cuts put more money in peoples' pockets unlike stimulus spending bills.

Maybe but so many of the new faces are far left progressive re s. many of the people who won tonight were centrists and moderates. Nelson ran ahead of Gillum even which was surprising. Beto did good but a lot of that was Cruz being awful.

But the point is that neither base can win the general on their own. It's all about undecideds, and getting those people to vote. Those people clearly are tired of the same old politicos. Happened with Barry and Trump. That's why I can't understand why somebody like Pelosi doesn't do the party a favor and steps aside, at least as the house majority leader. She's going to be the face of the Dems for the next two years, and I'm already hating having a 4K TV...
Bernie for example is relatable, but the fact that he means what he says scares some people (I do think he would've done better than Shillary though). So yeah, some young white moderate would work.
Now Trump gets to blame everything bad that happens for the next two years on the democrats! Gaining seats in the Senate was a big deal. The House can potentially flip every two years. Not the Senate.
