The Intercept broke the story, if that's what you meant.

Okay it was leaked to the Intercept, not the WaPO. And the Intercept turned it over to the FBI? In short I didn’t see the NYT or WaPO posting actual CIA hacking methods like Wikileaks.

was that a good cause, in your eyes, Reck?

revealing truthful information about a matter of public importance?
Does it matter what I think?

Her leaking the info didn't result in anything. What she leaked felt on deaf ears and she got sent to prison for her efforts.

    The russians are still laughing.

Not so well for Obama or their targets, whose professional careers were ruined.

Can't really speak for precedential value, can you?

A few pleaded out to lesser charges, so in some of the cases there was no precedent vis a vis the Espionage Act.
So not much in the way of precedent.

Let's see what the charges are before making a martyr out of stinky.

No one said stinky is a martyr, but many have pointed out that prosecuting him might have chilling consequences for journalism more generally.

    We'll see.

But if everyone is so confident he's be protected by the first amendment, they should welcome those charges. Stinky martyr becomes stinky messiah.

If he's actually gets the chilly charges. No one even knows that.

    No, I didn't dodge.

I have no opinion on that matter. I said "in her eyes" in quotes. These are not my own feelings. Perception is not your thing and that's ok.

All these articles were talking about chilling effects. So the charges leading to those effects are chilly charges.

    lol derp

I don't think the death penalty would apply to him. You choose Assange over the US though.

    Congratulations.
