the Republican candidate in the Mississippi run off literally said she wants to make it so it’s harder for college students to vote.

... and she loves public hangings (in MS, they don't lynch white people)
Not a god look when you have to concede twice. His downfall was being an educated black man in Florida. A shame.
This guy got Kim elected with this brilliant takedown of representative MacArthur:

When you really ing suck at risk
Damn I remember this vid. Didn't realize that was MacArthur.
The California Republican Party is dead, according to California Republicans
From Politico:
In the wake of a near-political annihilation in California that has left evenJust two days ago, Democrat Katie Porter officially bested her Republican opponent, Mimi Walters, for a congressional seat in
longtime conservative stronghold Orange County bereft of a single Republican in the House of Representatives,
a growing chorus of GOP loyalists here say there’s only one hope for reviving the flatlining party:
Blow it up and start again from scratch.
That harsh assessment comes as Republicans survey the
damage from the devastation of a “blue tsunami”
in California which
wiped out five GOP-held House seats
— with more still threatened — while
handing every statewide seat and
a supermajority
to the Democrats in both houses of the state legislature this week.
Orange County, of all places — which has suddenly turned solidly blue.

Around 3 million, that seems like a popular number.
For dumbasses.
That was raw. MacArthur knew his political career was over right then and there. It was judgment night in that place.
That was powerful. If this had been seen by every american voter - the election would have been even worse for republikunts.
I know exactly what the guy meant about his wife living with cancer and wondering if every knew lump or whatever was the cancer coming back. My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer about 2 years ago. Luckily it was caught early before it spread and her doctor has given a 20% chance of it coming back after surgery. She's on a medication treatment for the next 5 years. She's been going to a cancer support group for the last year and she's befriended people who unfortunately did have the cancer return. The weekend of the synagogue shooting she had acquaintances in their 30's die back to back days on Saturday and Sunday. It was a very dark weekend that brought that fear back to her, not that the fear ever left because I know it's always in the back of her mind.
MacArthur won that district by 21 points in 2016. If it wasn't for Geoff Ginter he would have probably kept his seat by at least a couple of points. That used to be considered a safe GOP district.
The nerve of assholes like Cruz running on protecting pre-existing conditions this election by their support for Ryan's garbage AHCA bill.
Unfortunately this is the typical Cruz voter in Texas:

Only thing missing is the oxygen tank!
That and a sign that says “KEEP YOUR GOVERNMENT HANDS OFF MY MEDICAIRE!!!”
Recount in Florida is over. Rick Scott wins by about 10k votes.
Out of all the states Republicans flipped, this one has to be the most painful for Democrats. This was truly the only state Republicans flipped to true red. Indiana, North Dakota and Missouri were all really a gift.
There is hope for a majority in 2020 or at the very least a split in the senate so let's hope for that.
The problem is that FL doesnt have a large educated suburb population with votes the Dems would be able to steal, same deal with Ohio. Gillum was a really good candidate so this wasn’t a Hillary issue.
They don’t need Florida for the house or for presidential elections so imo they should just concede it as a Trump victory in 2020, especially since it doesn’t have a senate race either. They’d be better focusing on states like Arizona and Georgia that have a winnable senate race as well as demographics shifting in their favor and a huge chunk of women in the suburbs who are now winnable votes.
I agree.
Florida is also a show and an embarrassment pretty much in every election. Dems have a lot of options if they pick the right candidate. Arizona, Ohio, North Carolina and Iowa are all possible to win in a presidential election.
Imo, Trump is ed.
Turnout was off the charts this midterm and the 3 states he won saw an even bigger turnout increase who voted the other way this time. I think the "we'll see how he does" phase is done.
Every vote in FL is razor thin and Nelson ran ahead of Gillum. The Gilum is a good candidate thing defies all logic and facts
100 of the precincts were reporting... but that means they have reported either in part or in full. they hadn't counted the mailed ballots yet
