While this has some truth I think it's fair to view Blossomgame as a somewhat promising recent 2nd round pick compared to Cunningham, I don't blame fans for wanting the younger stopgap who probably has more upside at this point than Cunningham.
I've got to agree with you with the Cunningham comparison!
PATFO sucks in that they insist on players with zero upside. Also, look at what the Bucks have done with Lopez, he's chucking the 3's. Why isn't Aldridge shooting the 3's???
I think it was Blossomgame who read the tea leaves in that the Spurs weren’t going to pick him up when they gave the two way contracts last season to two prospects who are gone and he probably considered himself better than. He forced himself into camp with the intention of either making the team or getting himself free from the Spurs exclusive rights in order to get opportunities elsewhere. His agent orchestrated the trade that sent him to the Cavs where he was picked up. It was pretty clear to him the Spurs didn’t want to sign him since last year. You have to be glad he put in the work and got a contract elsewhere. Why be buthurt that he made it elsewhere tbh?
Idk if Pop just hasn't asked it of him because he's trying to avoid Aldridge going back into the mental state of mind he was in when he wanted the trade in the first place because that would hurt team chemistry and we're not going to be able to trade him...or if Aldridge just isn't a good 3 point shooter. Aldridge's midrange shot has kind of fallen off a cliff so it's not crazy to think maybe 3's aren't within his range. But I get it, it's frustrating. He should be practicing 3's, he should be getting better at them and shooting them, and he should probably be in a little better shape.
Blossomgame, in spite of being drafted, was never even offered a two way either year he was here. Don't be fooled by the shiny numbers he puts up on a crap team. If anyone bothered to game plan him, he'd get shut down, hard. Nobody cares about the Cavs or Blossomgame enough to do that, so he'll continue to go out there and put up numbers in what is essentially a summer league environment.
I'm not saying that PATFO is perfect, but based on their track record, I trust their judgement a lot more than a bunch of anxious jerk offs on a message board. I like what I've seen of Moore, so far, and he's younger than JB.
Also from what I've read the past 10 games or so (haven't watched much, I train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at 6 most week day nights and by the time I get home I'm tired and don't really want to stay up to watch the games) Aldridge is apparently shooting the ball a lot more efficiently, but his defense hasn't been the greatest. Idk what the explanation is. Is he lazy, is his work ethic maybe just mediocre, or is it the fact that he's physically declining a little bit as a 33 year old big who was never the most quick twitch athlete in the first place. Maybe it's a little bit of some things.
Look I get what you're saying but idk how you're going to convince anyone that if teams wanted to gameplan and shut down Dante Cunningham just as easily they couldn't.
The thing is, DC gets more attention on a better team than JB, and he's still railing about 49% of his 3 balls. They're daring him to shoot, and he's delivering. He seems to have enough sense to pass the ball if they start playing him close, and if that starts happening regularly, LMA and DeMar just have more room to operate, with one defender out of the way. Vets know their role and play it.
Another thing to consider is that a vet will take a one year deal or a two year with a team option for year 2, but a young player is much less likely to do so.
They may have real plans for Moore, having made him their 2 way player, and not want JB in the way, or taking up a roster spot next year. Huestis may also be in their future plans.
Decent project. Should be active so Metu can stay in the d-league, but whatever.
They might be keeping Eubanks in Austin pending a more solid timeline for Gasol's return. Don't want to reach his call up limit if they'll need him later.
He was up earlier, when the Spurs had that 5 in 7 schedule nightmare. They are limited in SA roster days with the two-ways to only 45 days, and that's ALL days: practice, travel, game, or off day. He's played 4 games, so that could be anywhere from 4 to 10 days used.
Just had a nice game tonight.
The offense looked pretty solid in the summer league and pre-season. Still doesn't seem to have any defensive success, so the way he'd be helping the Spurs now seems limited. But I don't see why they would have Pon over him.
he could also do it in SA
Let me guess, Pon is a better locker room influence and a better 3 point shooter.
I actually thought his defense was always solid and it was his lack of shooting hurting him on the other end.
Small sample size so far, though. Still, wish we had kept him as our 3rd string SF behind Rudy and our next draft pick.
Q. Pondexter is alrite. It's Cunningham who is pitiful. Way more upside w JB. Dumb to let him go, I don't get it.
Is Judas having a good game so far?
It would be nice if Jaron can do us a solid a kick his quad for us, tbh.
They put up a good fight they have some talent on that team they taking the tanking to
a whole new level.
