winehole is not a conservative or tries to portray himself as one. He definitely leans left from what I have gathered. He has the ability to create his own well thought out positions which many here (you being a prime example) lack tbh.

Honest question since I haven’t paid much attention to the candidates like Kamala Harris, but outside of AOC, Sanders and maybe Warren, which of the Democrats are advocating for like free college tuition for everyone? I agree that Medicare for all has become a much more mainstream view in the last 3 years, but I still think most consider the other stuff (free college, the Green Energy New Deal, etc) to be extreme views that only the full blown populist candidates have.
Regarding healthcare, I think the country’s views as a whole have moved to the left (thanks in large part to gaffes by the GOP over the last 2 years in how it’s handled trying to replace Obamacare), which is why more Democrats are advocating for it. The 2018 elections were the first time I’ve ever seen it backfire when Republicans tried to fear monger about “socialist medicine!” and “death panels!” and that trend is only going to grow between now and 2020.
That’s not really possible until the Supreme Court reverses Roe v Wade.
Nonsense, states will keep pushing laws like the one Texas tried to close the majority of abortion clinics and this time the SC will decide 5-4 in their favor. As Ginsburg said abortion will always be an option for people who have the money to go out of state but Gorsuch + RapeK ensure the death by 1000 cuts stategy should work.
It’s already effectively (not technically) outlawed in some states. There’s only one place in the entire state of Mississippi where someone can get an abortion. While I’m sure it’s technically possible for some dirt poor black girl on the other side of the state who would need to drive over 300 miles to get an abortion, there’s a big chunk of the state’s population that has no way to get one.
