"eight year agenda"
Tell me, what was keeping him from asking Congress for 5 billion for a wall?
For two whole years.
Be specific.
Nothing's overplayed. In the upcoming election, Democrats aren't going to be able BS that border security is any sort of priority. Americans don't want people coming in lowering their wages. If Dems were smart, they would've understood that from last presidential election. But lobbyists are steering their boat. This is a huge W for the president.

spurtacular is easily the tiest poster on all of ST, maybe even all time. political takes, club threads, basketball takes. just kill yourself already
Tell me why 5 billion is a big deal when Congress has voted 40 billion for it in the past.
Be specific.
Exactly-- so why did Trump wait until he was in his weakest political position to ask Congress for it?
Explain.
Be specific.
Trump does, that's why he hires them. If Trump and Republicans cared about illegals coming in and lowering Americans' wages they'd have made it a jailable crime to hire illegals when they had full control of Washington. But they didn't because Trump and the GOP love illegal immigration every bit as much as the Democrats do.
100% stone cold truth.
We see it here in California where our s bag Demo politicans flat out state that someone needs to pick the fruit and tend to the farms and the Repubs want them to be their towel and cabana boys and maids at their exotic resorts.
IF Americans overall cared about the "lowering of wages", they'd be honest with themselves and just admit there are Americans, lots of Americans that are not above doing this work for those wages. Our en lement society has a real bad case of "keeping up with the Joneses" and think everyone who lives in this country should be en led to a higher quality of life they aren't qualified to and they would insist that more "real life" skills classes be made available to them in public school.
More economics, tradesman courses (basically anything that an ITT tech would offer for exorbitant tuitions to kids not accepted to traditional colleges or looking to be a tradesman or IT tech) and entrepreneurial courses should all be part of high school. Simple and the easiest way to send more productive and qualified people into the adult world.
Instead we send out severely under prepared idiots into the real world with zero real world preparation who expect an instant middle class or better living despite not having skills, or the proper expectations.
It starts with our society producing over en led citizens first and having to be real and accept certain realities they aren't willing to accept.
> cheap labor
Isn't automation here? Just looks like a ploy to further drop the white percentage and thus Republican voting base.
True robot nannies, maids and construction workers have made people completely unnecessary for anything.
It's your conspiracy theory. Go ahead and explain it.
Alt outburst.
He didn't care about it and congressional Republicans DEFINITELY didn't care about it.
Otherwise, Trump would have asked for it and Republicans would have voted for it when they had their best numbers.
That's how legislation works.
There's my theory.
What's your explanation, derp?
Step up.
you do the same exact thing.
325.7 Million Americans isn't enough to fill in the gaps?
The technology is growing not shrinking.
The global population should be SHRINKING. Amount of resources is shrinking.
America should be focused on vertical expansion and reinvesting in educating its own not importing college students from overseas. You're so out of the loop you're still focused on the strawberry industry
I saw this youtube video with machines that pick blueberries, lemons and strawberries and if these machines are any indication, soon there won't be a need for anyone to pick fruit - just someone to drive the machines over the fruit trees. They were nothing short of miraculous - perfect blueberries ready to be packaged. The strawberries machine had a conveyor belt where a single person loaded the strawberries right into the containers (out there in the field). The lemon one had about 8 cranes that needed 8 people to pick the lemons (one higher, one below) as the machine drove by the lemon trees.
At ds' school, there is a big push for almost the entire population to go to college - they actually advertise that in their orientation. It's a source of pride that most will be first generation college graduates (very high hispanic immigrant population) instead of useful trades like electrician, plumbing, etc. These days, if one isn't going into the health or IT/computer fields, it won't be so easy to live that American dream with a college degree (especially with the debt incurred).
Is that because America is unable or unwilling to educate/train its own? Average American can't manually fix or cook anything.
Schools dropped home ec and wood shop in favor of social awareness/sex ed classes - pushed by Liberals
It's just a matter of time. Anything repe ive - even white collar work will be likely replaced - see e.g. a radiologist - computers can read/process those x-rays/pics much faster and more accurately.
Probably doctors before nurses.
what? Those classes got dropped because of the re ed emphasis on standardized testing that we’ve seen in K-12 education the last ~30 years or so, has nothing to do with a liberal agenda (same reason there’s less PE, schools are focused on cramming for standardized testing so they can compete for funding). Sex Ed isn’t even taught in high school when those classes used to be taught, it’s almost always in middle school.
What does that have to do with nannies?
I already explained that Trump had a comprehensive legislative agenda and that he had not yet unified Republicans.
"Step up"
Try listening next time.
Cheeky takes vs. butthurt takes.

How is it comprehensive if it doesn't include the wall?
Explain.
