Doug Marrone punting on 4th and a millimeter deserves an honorable mention... then proceeding to give up a conversion on 3rd & 18 when his defense was his "calling card" all year long...
Also, the OP forgot that, back in the time of the "tuck rule" game, there was no Medicated Tucks; that brand and product went by the name of "Anusol". I'm not joking.
Fabbs has quietly been setting up shop in the low post, giving Pats fans the okie doke, dreamshake, sky hook etc.
seahawks shooting themselves in the foot beats everything
That one was the biggest sigh of relief, since they looked like they were going to lose another heartbreaker of a game and if they did the whole world would have been yelling about how “BRADY NEEDS DEFLATED BALLS TO WIN!!!”
The best win is definitely the Atlanta one imo. Coming back from 28-3 and winning 1 more than Montana is when anyone still arguing Brady isn’t the GOAT was considered re ed.
This last win against the Chiefs was pretty cool because I didn’t think they had any kind of a shot, but now if they lose the SB it’ll be admittedly pretty disappointing.
Will Hunting has had solid unbiased takes including the KC game.
mono has apparently broken up with his Tom Doll. Has some shockingly realistic posts regarding Pattycakes.
Anyone for or against the Pats, who is keeping it real has got see the incredible amount and quality of gifts they have received from other teams.
I don't think the KC game should be in the discussion though, Pats made so many unforced mistakes, KC had no business being in the game..
I agree, except I think we all overrated KC based on how they played when they had both Hill and Hunt.. That duo was just unguardable. The rams were the favourite to win the nfc all along and they have clearly mortgaged their future for this sb, so if anything them losing would be a massive failure. Granted, you always want to win when you can, but at some point...
No that the Rams will be disappointed if they lose, but doesn’t change the fact I’ll be disappointed if New England gets this close and already won a game they were expected to lose. As much as he says otherwise Brady doesn’t have 5 years left, probably 2 at the very most, and there’s a very real chance that this is their last deep playoff run.
Sidenote,if the rumors of the Chiefs hiring Steve Spagnolo as defensive coordinator are true. I’m sure they think that he has some magic formula for what it takes to beat Brady when in reality he’s a below average coach who’s failed in every situation when he didn’t have an all-world pass rush that allowed him to drop 7-8 into coverage.
Patriots got unlucky as in 2007
Lucky as against seattle though so it balances out
Sir Johnny viewing thread.
o Larry. How’s your frumpy wife doing?
That one evened itself out, are you forgetting that BS Kearse catch?
Everyone acting like “ZOMG PETE CARROLL GAVE ONE TO THE PATS” while forgetting that the only reason they were at the goalline is because of a top 3 fluke catch in football history.
Go back to every super bowl winning team and they had some element of luck help them. It might not be as obvious as a helmet catch or historically bad play call at the goal line, but there’s always something they benefit from that’s out of their control. More often than not it’s because they have a lot less injuries than an otherwise superior team.
Yeah, if you want to point to the real “Pats lucked out” moment against Seattle, it was when Jeremy Lane broke his arm, after that point the Patriots just destroyed the backup slot corner.
Thomas and Chancellor were all playing through injuries too iirc and it definitely affected Thomas’s ability.
Then in 2015 the Pats had what looked like an all time great team that (even though there’s no way to prove this) I still believe goes 19-0 without all of the the injuries it had. Before Solder and Deion Lewis went down that offense might not have put up the points that the 2007 offense put up but it was more balanced and harder to defend, while the D that year played really well.
Point being that there’s a ton of luck every year and the team that wins the super bowl is always going to be a team that had more good luck than bad luck.
Rams are tough to run against, night and day compared to KC. The Pats will have to come out with a gameplan of throwing the ball and airing it out early to try to expose the bad linebackers and such.
Yet again you're talking out of your ass.
During the regular season the Rams were dead last in the NFL yards allowed per carry (only team to give up north of 5 YPC) and they gave up the 10th most rushing yards per game (which is pretty ty considering how much they were up by multiple possessions and forcing teams to go pass heavy against them).
Do you have any actual facts to back up "Rams are tough to run against" or 'night and day compared to KC" (what a stupid ing comment), or are you just assuming it's the case because your ty ass Cowboys couldn't get any run game going against them?

the only reason so many people even picked Dallas in the first place was because LA couldn’t defend the run at all
they have more theoretical talent up front to stop the run with suh/donald/brockers up the middle. and yeah, they shut down zeke and ingram+kamara in the run game pretty well
Theoretically if my aunt had a she'd be my uncle. Are you just arguing for the sake of arguing or are you agreeing with his statement that the team that was dead last in YPC is tough to run against?
The logic in MM's post boiled down:if muh Cowboys couldn't run against them then NO ONE CAN
