I agree that sports where you can't take a lead from deficit due to single value goals are inherently worse than sports where you can. The Irish understood this when inventing Gaelic Football (there's a 1 point goal and a 3 point goal), a much improved version of soccer.
Exactly. People hate on the 3 point shot in basketball, and while it's true they should move it back further for this generation (and eliminate the corner three), it was pretty dull back in the old days when you were down 2 and the only strategy was "get the best shot available" instead of giving the defense something extra to worry about.

Yes. And Brady is officially in the same category in sports as Jordan.

by the way... congrats, Will Hunting / Raven / monosylab2k / but I lost a little respect for you guys for doubting the Pats all year long...
I was like the only poster that had them winning it months in advance. The NFL was that mediocre this year.

This was easily the worst SB I've ever seen. At least the Seacucks/Broncos had big plays and comedic value.

Saints are in cap and I think Brees has lost it...

We'll know more about the Pats after the Gronk decision... I think Brady will be fine

If the Chiefs want to beat the Pats they're going to need better LB and secondary play... desperately need corners.

If the Cowboys sign Earl Thomas, bring back Lawrence, get Frederick back, have a good offseason, they could be NFC favorites...

Not sure on the Eagles, Wentz no longer will have a viable backup if he gets hurt, and they have quite a few names in free agency this spring...

Bears and Vikings in the north... not sold on either QB, it's going to come down to whose defense is better...

Chargers will be in the mix for a wild card birth...

AFC North is wide open, and the Browns might be the best team...

    Colts run the south.
Again talking out of your ass. Saints are in good shape with the cap. They’re currently around 17 million and that’s before clearing out dead weight. They will probably have close to 30 million before FA starts.

The more I analyze this game, the more I think that LA is going to steamroll the Pats.

    New England’s weaknesses are:

    1. Brady being garbage vs interior pass rush. Good thing the Rams don’t have anybody who can do tha-oh wait they have Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh.

    2. Linebackers are really slow and incapable of covering running backs. Good thing the Rams don’t have a dangerous pass catcher out of the backfie-oh wait they have Todd Gurley.

    3. Letting derp QB’s like Foles & Eli go ape . Good thing the Rams don’t have a derp-ish quarterba-oh wait they have Jared Goff.

    4. Letting every opposing tight end have a career game on Super Bowl night - Higby & Everett are both more than capable of torching Hightower/Van Noy/Ching/McCurty/whoever.

    5. Pats defense has been terrible vs 11 formations all year. Good thing the Rams don’t run 11 all that much-oh wait they run it almost exclusively.

    6. Belichick has never, in 20+ years, figured out how to beat the Shanahan zone blocking scheme. Good thing the opposing head coach isn’t a Shanahan disciple who runs zone blocks-oh wait he does.

Also, all the talk has been “Bill has 2 weeks to devise a gameplan for the Rams” but nobody mentions that McVay has 2 weeks to prepare for a Patriots team that is far easier to gameplan against.

Changing my prediction to Rams 38, Patriots 20. After warching my team get their s kicked in, I’ll go park my car on 635 and jump into oncoming traffic. Peace.

Honest question, does the NFL even qualify as sport?
Unlike povertyball, it actually requires athleticism, strength, endurance, and strategic a en, so yeah, I'd say it qualifies as a sport.

Povertyball is more like a soap opera, complete with the bad acting.

He was the most accurate QB in the league. And the most accurate he's been in his career. And 2nd best in int % (and best in his career). How is that losing it?

On one hand it might be more impressive that it is 2 separate Dynasty's

On the other hand I don't think any non-Pat fan would have guessed the franchisee went 9 seasons without a le, especially in the prime years of Brady.

I really like the Brady - Duncan comparisons. The gap between first and last le makes them special. Duncan never repeated but Brady had a longer drought

I still give the Saints the best chance to win the division... don't think they'll get a bye, though. Also, the X factor is that it's going to be an odd year and Cam Newton shines in odd years. (If, and only if, his shoulder surgery goes well and he is 100% by preseason.)

Falcons offense is done until they fire Quinn, and the Bucs are in QB , don't see either of those winning more than 5-6 games.

Even those "uber athletes" just run in a straight line. I guess the running backs are shifty but on the football field everything is simplistic run full speed in one direction for 5 seconds

Why do they time lineman in a 40 yard run? Their job is to roll forward 5 feet and then fall over.

We fired his right hand man, and he's on the hot seat on a contract year this year. Anything short of a close loss in the NFC championship game, he won't get a new contract. (Not the same as getting fired, but same effect.)
