My thing is sure it would be sweet to keep both 1st round picks, I always love the draft and the summer league team but let’s not act like Pop will actually play who ever it is they draft. He’ll be stashed in the g-league and developed which has worked great for the spurs but we don’t have much time left with pop coaching I think.

if the Lakers somehow land Davis and get Walton fired in favor of Mark Jackson (Klutch client), Klutch would have a significant hold over the Lakers' organization. In addition to LeBron and KCP, LA can land another Klutch client this summer, whether it's Leonard or Thompson. I'm not sure that's ideal for the Lakers as an organization, since Klutch clients can leverage themselves for bigger salaries or ask to be traded whenever they want to be traded. We're not even sure whether it's Maginka or Rich Paul calling the shots. I'm thrilled Demps isn't caving in to pressure but 48 hours is still a lot of time to get a deal done.

if Snell is a defensive wing maybe Gasol + a 2nd for Snell and Maker would work? Or they can add the Raps' pick, though Maker isn't worth that much at this point.

id be down for that trade, but I don’t think the bucks would be unless there’s a first round pick and I doubt the spurs would do that then lol

It's especially bad because that was the only reason for hiring Magic

Lakers have been an embarrassment as a franchise in the progressive, analytics era..they look so lost without being able to do what they always did, which is rely exclusively on the appeal of being a celebrity in LA..
Thats what makes it so bad. They literally had the deck completely stacked in their favor with PG, Kawhi and now AD all demanding trades to the Lakers just for the appeal of being in LA; nothing to do with merit.

So LA still has that appeal obviously and even with that built in advantage they put themselves in this situation?

I'd imagine the Lakers make at least one other minor trade to clear up the logjam (Caldwell-Pope?), because they already had too many veteran rotation types, many of whom are volatile.

Prince is closer to a slightly bigger Snell than he is a true 3 and D wing, but he's not necessarily a finished product and still easily the best realistic option.

Forbes and a 1st likely gets it done, but they don't have the balls to make that type of trade in season. Maybe in the off season, but he could be gone before then.

Think there's an outside chance they trade for Johnson, but I expect nothing as usual because they're probably too concerned with their precious culture and "system" to alter their mighty fringe playoff team.

And before you bring up the draft picks, they'll just be hoping to select someone with the profile of one of them and even if successful, by the time they get them up and running, Aldridge and Gay will more than likely be past their prime.
Bruh, watch him play and read about him from the people that cover the team. He’s not good. I mean, he should be, on paper, but he’s not good.

I’m not giving up a first for him and Forbes is a better player too actually.

The Snell comparison was my way of saying: He looks the part of a 3 and D wing, but he's not actually a good defender. Nonetheless, he at least has the physical tools, has shown flashes earlier in his career and is still young enough to where he could end up being neutral or slightly better if put on a team where he'd have a defined role. Combine that with his being a threat on offense and the dearth of options otherwise and he's worth it.

Or they can waste what's left of the prime of their core by hoping to get a more intriguing piece with non lottery picks . . . because solid or better 3 and D wings with size are always available around 20 and 30.

DPG wants the Spurs to trade for Otto Porter's average ass and pay him $27,000,000/per for 3 season

I don’t get this mindset though. He’s not a good player. You don’t give up chances (picks) and better players (Forbes) for guys who aren’t good.

Money aside, he’s a much better player than guys who have been mentioned, so yeah.

That's a lot of money to throw aside. Much less to give up a first rounder (like you suggested you would gladly give up) for an average role player.

He's barely played 2+ seasons. Guess what? Forbes was a fringe NBA player until this season. He's a rotation caliber player now. Players can improve and context often plays a significant role in their success or lack thereof.

The mentality is, they tried to straddle the line between winning and re-building, so they might as well give their core a reasonable chance at a few decent playoff runs, so long as they're not mortgaging their future in the process.

I would much rather have Otto and give up a first for him than give up a first for Prince.

I get the logic, but not every player with a mold turns into gold. I think Prince sucks. I would be very pissed if SA traded a first round pick for him given that after the draft and getting actual nba tape on a player their value goes up or down (and his is down).

Right now, Forbes is better and not that much older, and is definitely a better player.

Obviously. It would be a calculated risk. If they drafted a wing with Prince's physical tools and shooting ability, this board would be thrilled. Giving up a 20ish pick, where they'd be highly unlikely to find that combination, is worth it.

Debatable, but Forbes has no place on this roster going forward. Prince would.

Rockets discussing Brandon knight and a first round pick for Alec burks. I know Cavs are taking on knights salary but giving up a first round pick just for burks!! That’s crazy

There's nothing Jordan hates more than writing cheques for Black people, tbh..
There is one thing he hates more....writing checks for his gambling debts.

With the Rap pick being very late in the draft, chances of the Spurs drafting a Euro goon to stash who will never ever make it here are high. Or, they can revert to the Peter Holt Model and trade down into the second round because they dont want to give out a guaranteed contract.
Chances of them being innovative and moving up in the draft by trading both picks to move up, or trading a pick and a player to move up are slim.

Pacers fans are the real MVP. They torched McGee at the free throw line. There's a picture of LeBron James sitting at the end of the bench separated from his teammates by two or three chairs.
    A closer look
