The right has obsessed over Ocasio-Cortez ever since she upended the Democratic establishment last summer. Conspiracy theories have emerged over her socioeconomic status (her clothes, childhood home, and even her public high school did not look poor enough, so she must have been lying about her working class background) and there has been extensive criticism of her dancing, how she's allegedly "not successful in real life," and her failure to smile.
    lol wtf is this ^

"Ocasio-Cortez cited statistics from Colorado and Washington, where marijuana is legal for recreational use, that 73 percent of cannabis business executives are male and 81 percent are white."

"She raised the possibility of “affirmative-action licensing” to boost the number of minorities in local cannabis businesses so that “frontline communities” could now “reap the benefits or recoup some segment of costs that they bore in the 1990s during the war on drugs.”"

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/ocasio-co...21.html?bcmt=1

Fresh air complains that minorities aren't taking initiative and investing in a new industry. Her solution is government intervention based on skin color or gender.

It's funny that you think Trump believers will ever actually back up any of the claims they make.

So long as libs are triggered, lying is axiomatically good.

There is no more conservative ethos, own the libs is the whole of it.

It’s actually impressive that the best conservatives have come up with on AOC is the nickname Sandy she had in high school, the outfit she was wearing for a photo shoot that shouldn’t be able to afford, bug eyed pictures, and a video of her dancing in college. She must have no skeletons ar all when thousands of people obsessed with trying to create negative press for her can’t find anything real

it's also funny that Republicans are frothing at the mouth to "blame" Cortez for killing the Amazon deal (because they fear her rising s om and her message that resonates with many everyday hard-working Americans) when it was Senator Michael Gianaris who spearheaded the effort. Also, let's look at some of the facts here:

    - Amazon refused to work with unions.

    - City councilmen and congressional representatives are elected to represent their specific districts, so if Cortez's district was against the Amazon project, she's obligated to fight for that interest. The councilmen who reps the district was also against the project. This leads me to the believe the local residents were against it. And we have a poll to kind of prove it...

    - 56% of New York voters statewide were for the project. But again, statewide. Of course someone who lives in Albany or Buffalo is going to be for it since they live far away from any repercussions the project might bring to the local community.

    - Those repercussions can include rising rents and displacement of local citizens and small businesses.

    - One of the councilmen said where the project might make sense for Scranton or Nashville, it doesn't make sense for Long Island City, NY. Why is this? Because New York is densely packed with an innumerable amount of options to live that never places you too many miles from where you need to commute. This means there was a risk that all those "25000 high paying jobs" would be living and spending their money in more "glamorous" places like Manhattan, while simply commuting to LIC for work. Meanwhile, the local community around the complex rots (due to speculative rising rents that would displace citizens).

    - And it wasn't 25000 "high paying" jobs.

However, there was no guarantee that New Yorkers would be hired to fill a majority of the Amazon positions and half of the those jobs were not expected to be tech related.
"No guarantee New Yorkers would be hired." So this means Amazon could very well import many Chinese and Indian tech-workers on H1B1 visas (what happens in Silicon Valley) or at the very least import them from other places in the country. Meanwhile, the residents get the warehouse jobs. Anyhow, LIC's unemployment rate is 3.4%. It doesn't look the city really needs any menial jobs.

    Yep.

The concerted right wing effort to monster AOC tends to propel her to a level of prominence and influence she could hardly hope to get all on her own.

Time to install some cognitive dissonance in my man Chris:

    https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry...b0522c7d3d84af

When the left's version of Fox News agrees with Trump on the way tech companies undercut skilled American workers through visas, you know it's rotten. Methinks Amazon would do similar.

Unless you have a poll that says her district didn't want it then there is no need to bring up the point.

She's for open borders. Why is she so concerned about displaced citizens?

She thinks they have 3 billion to spend on the poors now.
