^Agreed, not sure what the big deal is. Any military conflict between the US and Russia would essentially spell mutually assured destruction and the end of mankind.

Basically if US performs a nuclear beheading attack on Russia (take out alltheir leadership and decision making) the dead hand system workiing in autopilot will detect radiation or seismic levels in Moscow and automaticaly launch a retaliation nuclear attack will all remaining weapons. Basically the end of the world.
They have included their new poseidon underwater nuclear drone in the dead hand system. It would basically get close to US coast and detonate rendering entire Easter seabord into a nuclear wasteland
