Seems like everyone who's "considering it" is going to throw their hat in the ring.
O'Rourke, Biden and Brown probably make the announcement in March.
All three of them have a better chance at beating Trump than anyone else currently in the field.

No word on whether or not he's running for president yet but sounds like he's ruled out taking a run at Cornyn in 2020 so chances are he's running for president.

I doubt Beto's success in Texas translates to national politics. A lot of it was simply hate for Ted Cruz. I would be shocked if he wins.
would you be shocked if biden does not win he is the one that will face TRUMP in 2020
Disagree. Betos texas race was a national event discussed by millions. He would have easily won on most other states.
He is an Obama lite and it translates very well nationally.
Biden will have to run given the recent tyness by te other 2 centrist establishment candidates Kamala Rita Marley and Betacus Booker.
If Biden fails the establishment theres alway Hillary provided she can still feed herself
As I have said all along a Beto/Biden ticket, in that order, is the dems best shot at beating the orange dildo. Not sure many other candidates have the mass appeal, maybe Bernie, he could be a good vp running mate for Beto as well.
I don't buy that Beto got close to winning by converting any Cruz voters. Beto drove huge turnout among young people which should translate nationally.
Hilary Clinton is not walking through that door.
I meant that the hate for Cruz drove the turnout. The Democratic primary will inevitably get nasty and I don't think Beto will be able to reproduce what he did locally on a national level.
The hate for Trump was a much bigger factor, and that's going to be there in an even bigger way in 2020.
In that case, you’d just have to hold your nose and vote for trump, right?
She might not walk but will be helped through that door by a couple of male nurses tbqh.
Its clear they need a centrist neolib establishment candidate. If Biden s up and Rita Marley and Betacus flame out. Hillary will be back.
Book on that
The polling says Beto did a little bit better among Republicans/Independents than other in recent memory but yeah the big difference was demographics. The voter base in the 2014 Texas midterms was 66% white and this time around it was 56% white. That's a massive swing. He probably wins if the 65 and older crowd doesn't show up in record numbers (mostly out of fear that the race might actually be close). Beto still got clobbered in places like Louie Gohmerts district the same way every other Democrat does.
The one trap I could see Beto fall into is getting too focused on trying to make Texas compe ive instead of trying to win Wisconsin/Michigan/etc. The Dems need to be extremely thoughtful in what states they spend money in. Florida for example shouldn't be that big of a deal despite the fact everyone considers it a big swing state. It's not a state they need to win, it has no senate race, and it has very little in terms of compe ive house seat races.
If that happens I will commit seppuku at the White House gate
Beto's time has passed, I think. The nation hasn't heard from him in a while.
Agreed. Sherrod Brown is more of a JFK type moderate, too. And he's the only Democrat with an actual chance to win Ohio. He's a Midwestern moderate who might be able to snare the entire North back from the GOP.
Beto would do even better on the national stage than in Texas imo. As hater said he is similar to Obama in the fact that he is very charismatic and can drive the young voter turnout. Trumps base is going to vote for him and the other republicans will vote for him because of the Magic R. The key for dems will be driving voter turnout in other areas. I think someone like Beto can do that, I’m not sold that many of the other dems candidates can.
It's hilarious how Trump voters talk about Hillary's ability win elections almost as if it's urban legend. There's multiple Trump voters on this site who've theorized that Hillary is going to throw her hat into the ring at the last minute, pull a bunch of fundraising and campaign infrastructure out her ass right before the primaries when all of the other candidates already have infrastructure and financing in place, and then win with her magical Hillary powers, even though that's the opposite of how she's ever been able to win elections.
For most of 2017 and 2018 she's been running around trying to find any semblance of encouragement from people to run again so she can justify it and it hasn't been there. For all of the outrage about potential Russian collusion, it's translated to zero sympathy for Clinton.
Since then, she's spent more time this year meeting with and coaching other candidates than she's spent doing anything that would hint at a run. It's pretty obvious she's not running.
JFK was a moderate? Seriously?
His physical appearance is the only issue. He's got all of the substance and no style, his voice is really raspy and as superficial as that sounds it definitely matters to the average American who doesn't care about policy as much as he wants a candidate who it'd be fun to have a beer with. People don't like the image of an egg head with disheveled hair and a nerdy voice.
Other than that though he'd decimate Trump in an election. The entire rust belt would swing back to team blue and he'd made inroads with white voters that no Democrat has made since Bill Clinton.
I don't get his JFK comparison but compared to some of the incoherent gibberish we hear from other candidates like Kamala Harris who've gone from being corporate shills to just blindly spouting "Medicare for all!!! More free !!!" Brown is beginning to look like a moderate when he's anything but.
I'd compare Brown more to FDR than JFK because of his appeal to the working class white voter.
I’d love to see a one-on-one debate between those two
Darrin's YouTube says he's a Republican.
First off im not a Trump voternever voted for him and never would My vote is already written for Tulsi then Bernie if Tulsi gets obliterated.
You are assuming Hillary dismantled her infraestructure. Its still there. She also still own DNC which is all she would need. Its not like she will have to start from scratch. Biden has less of an infraestructure.
Only thing that would discourage would be Bernies meteoric rise which is a thing right now. But media and DNC already working against that.
In other words she can be back at the flip of a switch
