Pretty amazing trade tbh. Obviously AB can turn into a cancer quickly but if the team doesn't completely whiff on their draft picks, they might have something tbh.

I mean a 3rd and a 5th for arguably the best WR in football is pretty good. Sure the money sucks but it's better than having to pay Cooper that money.

Of course the Raiders will probably whiff on their 1st rounders or do something stupid like throw similar money at Le'Veon but this move in a vacuum was a no-brainer.

When i heard the raiders were in the AB sweepstakes i assumed they were gonna use a first rounder. So now we went from coop to AB and have 3 first rounders + early second
They traded what the Vikings gave New England for the corpse of Randy Moss in a 2010 midseason trade, Pittsburgh got ing fleeced

    Turned Cooper, a 3rd and a 5th into Brown and a 1st.
Brown has maybe another pro bowl year left, Cooper has 6-7

They need a QB who will throw deep. Ben Rapey is inconsistent as but the one thing he does well is throw a reasonably accurate deep ball, and he's not afraid to chuck it.

Since the Jags are getting the best deep ball free agent QB in Foles that leaves the Raiders with limited options at QB.

Cooper also wasnt doing with the Raiders. 1 more year for AB seems a bit low. He could finish his contract playing at a high level.

I can see Brown putting up bigger numbers simply because the Raiders will be playing from behind more than the Steelers did. Yep, will take a little while for Carr/Brown to click but they will.

I think Brown gets this is his last chance and will be cool. If he s this up nobody will care how good he is, he's a problem so...pass.

He got 50M/3 of which an absurd 30 guaranteed.. Just wow.
On a player that might touch the ball 8 times per game. The Raiders are gonna be in salary cap for a long time

Not because of AB. His contract is basically guaranteed for 2 years. That’s not holding anybody back for a “long time”. And unfortunately we don’t have stud players on rookie deals due for raises. Mack and cooper would have been. The Trent brown deal is a bigger concern imho. Feels like last year when the giants paid solder for average play

AB's deal doesn't help. What if after two years he's still productive but the Raiders still aren't winning?

Unless they're gonna stick with Carr, the only hope they have is to get a great QB in the draft that can produce early on while still on the rookie deal.

then they can decide to cut him if they want...

they're sticking with carr. thats why they just paid this other a ton of money to pass protect

Raiders have a far inferior QB.

Think Ebron with the Colts last year as opposed to his past team, for good example.

Trent Brown played well last year but Brady has a way with OTs. Not sure if he's really that good. Pats will get another 3rd round comp pick in 2020... lol. I don't get why the Raiders did this after they drafted Miller with a premium pick plus another OT? I guess they're trying to ship Penn out of town right now.

what are you talking about? Ebron put up similar stats with with Stafford other than TD's. It had way more to do with how the Lions chose to use him as opposed to the QB play.
Not to mention the lack of pass catchers in Indy. Hilton hurt off and on, Doyle out for most of the season

Different example... Randy Moss. Jordy Nelson/Greg Jennings. How about the receivers who have been on the Saints as opposed to when they've been on a team with a crappy QB?

I'm not arguing the point. Just your first example. You have a tendency to throw out your opinions that have no statistical basis.

What Saint's receivers are you talking about?

i do think AB's numbers will dip. he benefited a lot from Ben extending the play and then heaving it deep. he'd kill it with 2015 or 2016 carr and he was much more aggressive down the field. 2017 carr was abysmal. 2018 carr was mediocre. the year was a mess all around. defense was historically bad in the pass rush. our OL went from a strength to liability (carr took 51 sacks). carr played the role of a game manager on a team that needed him to rise and carry, he wasn't up for it. i like that we didnt give up too much for Brown, but unless Carr bounces back in a big way, i can envision brown pouting by week 11

Should Oakland take a chance on Haskins? He's not the most accurate, but he has arm strength and isn't afraid to throw downfield.

i think you stick with carr, unless you come across a prospect that you just cant pass up. haskins isnt that guy. i'd rather spend all our early picks on defense and a tight end to replace jared cook.

Carr is coming off his best stat season.

    68.9 comp%....which is great.
    His first 4000 yard season.

The game is so much better with the Raiders/Niners in the mix.

Carr is all the Raiders need. He's not the problem.
