He'll have to demonstrate there's and heaven, and all that. He's supposedly Jesus Christ, shouldn't be much of a problem, at least according to the fantasy version of him.
By the time he's done that, the benefits of faith will have bypassed you; but sure at some point the rubber has to meet the road if it's true.

I don't dwell on the alleged benefits/pitfalls of faith. My interest lies on the concrete. We're here for a limited time at any rate, we get to pick and choose how we spend our time (which is also why I don't particularly condone anybody that wants to spend it on faith, they're certainly en led to do with their time as they please).

I knew you were gonna use that goalpost move. Always using semantics. No one thinks about a crazy ass dad murdering his family when they hear mass shooting. Unfortunately no laws are going to prevent that.
If you are going to throw out mass shootings like the above that are always counted as mass shootings you are going to lose the majority of recorded mass shootings.

Bad people do bad things. They are not going to go away no matter how many laws you write down on paper. Cruz was exceptional because all the signs were there, but the school working with the police department decided not to press charges on previous incidents so they would receive more money. It's pretty simple stuff once you do a little digging past the MSM spin.
But gun advocates don't want to play ball on ANY "reasonable" gun control proposals. What's wrong with imposing a 22 year old age limit for gun purchases (why not 21? I think matching the age limit to the "average" age a person graduates from college is sensible, since college is a rather stressful time in a person's life, and stress and firearms don't mix particularly well)? 18 year olds are still children. We simply picked that name to define "adult" because that's when we graduate high school. Science doesn't support 18 year old=adulthood, as the brain is still developing at that age. And yes, 18 year olds shouldn't be serving in the military, either. Or what's wrong with a tiered licensing structure (i.e. rifles with higher capacity magazines require more licensing)?

How many shootings in the last 4 years in the US fit the bill for what I described? The public shooting of many people?

I don't know the number off the of my head, but would guess it is 5 or higher. If you want to include some family shooting go ahead, but for the family shootings it doesn't matter if the guy has a handgun or semi auto rifle. For the public shootings on the other hand that makes a significant difference.

I think you answered your own question. Telling a man, or woman, that you can go die overseas for your country, but you are unable to protect yourself or your family because of an arbitrary age requirement is asinine. The reason "gun advocates" don't want to play ball with "gun proposals" is because they can never get a definite answer on where you will draw the line. Bump stocks? Rifles? Are we going to back to single shot muskets so Jenny from the block can feel safe at night? Where do the gun proposals end?

Chicago even at these lows isn’t a success story regardimg gun control. A fat who weighed 700 pounds and lost 150 pounds is still a fat .

I don’t know if you’ll ever be able to stop a Nicolas Cruz from buying an AR-15. He didn’t have any felonies on his record to get denied during a background check. His mental health problems and prior violence don’t show up on the background check, should they? That’s up for debate and I think both sides of that one have equally valid points. I do think the NICS system needs to be improved a great deal.
I agree that reducing rather complex sociological phenomena down to single solutions is a fool's errand. Our relatively free access to guns plays only one part in our higher murder rates relative to the rest of the developed world. Strong gun control advocates (not calling out anyone here) believe our collective murder rate would fall to Australian levels if we enacted similarly strict gun control. I don't believe that. I do believe that stricter gun control (and by no means would this stricter gun control be overarching, just a bit more comprehensive, like raising the minimum age and implementing something like a tier licensing structure) would reduce the frequency of Columbine-style mass shootings, however.

I’d have no problem with the age being moved to 21 as long as military members at 18 could still purchase, or move military age up to 18. Gun advocates don’t want to play ball because they don’t get to play ball. Has there been any sort of compromise or have California gun owners just repeatedly taken in the ass? Your age limit idea is reasonable, and that’s why I can support it. Most gun laws I have to deal with here are not reasonable, they are poorly thought out and have no measurable affect on what they are intended to do. I won’t post any more pictures of my guns online, and I don’t even feel comfortable discussing guns online anymore being that I still live in California and with all the new laws that were passed. Millions of people became automatic felons over night, I bet half don’t even know it. That’s not reasonable.

If you want to see a reduction in Columbine style mass shootings we’d need full cooperation from the media to not sensationalize and instead report facts alone and then go dark. I think social media is another huge factor in the increased frequency we are seeing.

We also tell them they can't drink beer or gamble legally. But as I said, the 18 year old age minimum for military service is nonsensical. Again, 18 year olds are still children. I have a clear line.

    - 22 minimum age for any firearm purchase.
    - Sales prohibited to people with a history of mental health problems (already on the books, actually, but doesn't seem to be effectively enforced).
    - Required gun safety course for your C-level license (which allows you to purchase basic shotguns, single shot rifles, and revolvers).
    - Owner needs to prove himself as a responsible C-level licensee for a year before he's allowed to pursue a B-level license, which allows purchases of semi-automatic handguns.
    - Repeat process for pursuit of A-level license (allowing purchases of higher capacity semi-automatic rifles).

As you can see, obtainment of a C-level license is rather "easy," and grants you access to all the firearms you need to defend yourself and family.

I've debated alarmist gun-grabbers, as well. I'm only speaking for what I think are reasonable gun laws and not promoting the general liberal mentality on gun control, which would resemble that of the UK or Australia.

Oh, and related to my tiered license structure for firearms, I don't think a 16 year old should be able to own a high performance sports car right after stepping out of the DMV with their newly printed license. Same logic. Prove you're a competent driver for a year or two driving around a Camry, then you can step up and get your higher level license allowing for legal operation of a sports car.

I also don't want to hear "Freedumbs" nonsense, since we prohibit more innocuous things than preventing 16 year olds from driving sportscars. I can't place a sports bet nor play poker online "legally."

Faith being irrational (which, as I already explained, is not a bad thing), is not a matter of opinion. My choice not to dwell on faith certainly is. I also don't dismiss faith at large either, I do think it's demonstrably true that in certain contexts it becomes dangerous, mostly because of the fanatical aspects of it. This would be pretty much rehashing the conversation we had last night on the subject.

What these laws are meant to prevent is large shootings in public places. They have done just that in Australia.
The New York Times thinks that. They're the one that called it a mass shooting.

No laws are going to prevent people from killing other people. It's happened even before guns were invented. Does it matter that it was his family? Does he have some exclusive right to kill his own family?

I understand the thinking behind your tiered system, but your C-level license doesn’t provide anything for my wife to protect herself and my son. Shotgun too much kick, penetration through walls, pump action. Single shot rifle? Lol. Revolvers with stopping power also have too much kick, and only six shots. An AR-15 is far and away the best platform for a female to defend herself in a home invasion. Minimal kick, minimal wall penetration, lightweight, 20-30 rounds, flashlight to ID intruder.

Maybe they don't have a wise man like TSA to tell them what to do.

    Finally saw that video...

    what a piece of .

One barbaric thing we could do for these types of killers -

    is allow

    TORTURE

    and film it.

It would sure send a message to any of these mass murderers.

A good slow torture lasting weeks - until death.
But you couldn't wait to see the video huh?
