Does not equate to "higher standard".
Great analysis, Blake Zero.
Does not equate to "higher standard".
This needed to go trial (or a real plea deal). The system looks like a joke now; and of course it is. Everything Obama touches tends to go that way.
No it just highlights what everyone here should already be well aware of, that real class separation is in wealth and power connections not in race although race may play a part in that.
When two cases get completely different levels of attention from the justice system because one person is relatively unknown and the other is a celebrity, that shows you equality isn't really being sought, only privilege is being sought.
Doesn't matter if it's Obama or George Bush's daughters, common people don't get treated the same as this caste of people because everyone else is just a peasant.

Whose 2020 bid? Kim Foxx's?
Then it's surprising that some on this board celebrate Smollette getting off virtually scot-free.
There's a bigger frame. Cook County declining to prosecute Smollette at the same time as Mueller declining to prosecute DJT.
What holds for the one (COMPLETE EXONERATION) should hold for the other -- unless one thinks that declining to prosecute, as AG Barr said himself in his summary of principal findings of the Mueller report, is not an exoneration.
Seemed to me posters were making fun of the hasty triumphalism of Trump supporters.

Yup. There are a lot of stupid people who want to make it about race. For every idiot against Smollette, they've a counterpart against the celebrities who bribe educators. It's not about race, it's about privilege.
Or money and race are just two separate factors that can both have an impact. Why does it have to be mutually exclusive?
Race plays a factor on which side of these two specific cases some people stand on.
They arent mutually exclusive. But for these two instances, they are the driving factors. Privilege and money is why none of the offenders will receive any punishment. Race is the main factor why some people pretend to be upset about these cases.
and most all lawyers are frauds just like most liberals. go figure.
i think we should drop his sorry ass off in the ME and call it a day. smollette!
I don't disagree. But it doesn't mean the system isn't broke. If they're that blatant when everyone is watching, imagine the that gets done when people aren't watching.

COMPLETE AND TOTAL EXONERATION
Of course it doesn’t mean the system isn’t broken. A system where rich people get away with the same crime that poor people don’t is obviously very broken.
That's right up your alley.![]()
Celebrate all you want. If you or I did that, we'd get the book thrown at us.
a week in an people are still missing the joke.
Enlighten us, Blake Zero.
don't worry about his fat ass... you couldn't find a noose big enough to wrap around mono's gullet.
Only 130K? Seems like way more was spent on this putz.
According to Page Six, police still believe Smollett, who has since been ordered to fork over $130,000 to cover the city's legal costs
Great, when is the Chicago PD going to pay back the city for the $662 million it has paid out since 2005 to cover the cost of police misconduct?
if smollett wasn't fruity he would had been in court by now!
