And what I'm saying is that White wasn't ready for the game, it ain't his fault he's young, Mills litterally gave zero s about the situation, because Mills doesn't need to give any s, (fitty mills regardless) Mills was their best chance for a comeback, I'm not saying it was a good chance I'm saying it was the best chance.
So your argument is basically that Mills deserved to play because he "looked more confident" than White? Not that he actually did anything better than White would've, but just that he "looked more confident"?

You realize they have plays specifically designed for that scenario right? We literally saw one today, with that feint to Forbes three out of the timeout. The nuggets had no idea it was coming for a reason.
I don't give a . If you're down 2, in the closing moments of a game you go all out to get the stop. You don't take the stop for granted and bring out lineups that are better suited for the next (offensive) possession.

Why is that so hard for you to accept?

played with more confidence, yes, if White showed up, I would argue Mills shouldn't have been out there, If White took half the ty shots mills did I would have said he should have played, cause at least he was shooting them, the nuggets were playing off him like he was 2000 Bruce Bowen, daring him to beat them, he didn't respond . Not a knock on him he just wasn't ready.

I disagree, you're down two, with one timeout, in a two for 1 scenario you play for possessions. Maximizing your chances to put the ball in the net.

In the same night Kiwi drops 45, DeFrozen blessed us with his seasonal playoff choke job. It's almost prophetic.

Wombat played the last 20:45 in the game. He took 1 shot that whole time. 1 shot.

Try again. I'm sure you can come up with a better justification.

Yeah, that's really dumb and not how any coach handles a game.

This season I really tried to just enjoy spurs basketball without calling them trash or being negative. But goddamn this team is beyond trash.

Yeah, that's really dumb and not how any coach handles a game.
Let's go through you majestic coaching, you sub in white you get the stop with 36 seconds, you call a timeout to bring in mills. (Your idea, not mine) So you have no timeouts and the ball with 36 seconds left
so you go 2 for 1 right, you make the basket yay you're tied you stop Denver with one second, no TO overtime. You don't stop Denver they're up and you don't have a timeout, you lose.
You don't go 2 for 1 run it to the end of shot clock, miss, game over. Run it to the end of the Clock make, Denver calls timeout, you don't get the stop, you have the ball with no TO assuming denver didn't take it all the way down anyway, you lose. You do get the stop, OT.
***caveat this is assuming the Spurs last make was not a three pointer, cause c'mon, they weren't making no damn three to win the game.
Now let's run another hypothetical scenario,
They get a stop they don't waste their Timeout. Then the initial scenario results in at least an attempt to win the game after advancing the ball, or a chance to tie the game with a stop and a miss.

I don't get you if Derozen doesn't miss that damn shot the Spurs would have at least had an attempt to tie the game in the end, which guess what even if they get the stop down 2 they still would have had to put it in the basket. The game was lost when he missed that shot, not when murray made his 2.

They both took 7 shots, White 4 threes Wombat 5 threes...

You're still looking ahead. Get the stop. That's it. That's the only concern at that point. Worry about 2 for 1s and whatever other bull afterwards. It's not my majestic coaching, it's just common sense and how any coach coaches.

Btw if DeRozan makes that shot at the end you still need a stop to get a chance at a tie.

sad to say but mills was playing better D than white, white was looking timid out there on both ends while mills was atleast being a pest and harassing Murray on the defensive end

In every scenario they need to make that stop. That was Denver's last possession, they would have had a tie with their last possession or a lead with their last possession

Yeah, so put your best perimeter defender in there to try to get that stop.

Had to be. There’s just no other explanation.
Honestly don’t/can’t blame LMA for that. I mean.. giving tons of minutes to Gasol and 50 over Poeltl and LW? Though to be fair, hard to imagine how that would even be on a player’s mind in that situation where you’re in those win or lose moments. Also, Patty.

Depends on Nuggets and whether they called a timeout, because mills would have been in to run the offensive play

Without looking ahead to future possessions, give me a good reason why you don't just do it at 88-86 coming out of a DEN timeout? The opportunity was there.

I already said why, that was what our whole previous conversation was about. i don't believe they were scoring with White on the floor. If they couldn't score they weren't going to win.

That's not how the game is played though, time is a factor in the game that can't be ignored. Like I said I would have been completely on board with the Spurs playing White in the scenario of Denver's last possession.

There's no argument to be made because ignoring time in the the game, especially end of game is ing stupid.

Not as stupid as looking ahead instead of focusing on the defensive stop that was needed.
