Everything about Rob Pelinka screams ruthless backstabber to me, so I'm not surprised in the least. The irony of hiring the agent who helped set the franchise back years with a bloated loyalty to Kobe being hired to try and fix it is nice drama for non-Laker fans, especially the angle of other GMs quietly uniting and refusing to deal with them... Pelinka might have as large a negative effect on that team as Dolan has for the past decade with the Knicks.

It has to be frustrating to be a well educated, experienced former agent and see a low IQ, lazy, incompetent former player receive the same power as you. Kinda ballsy on Pelinka's part, and he probably doesn't do it if he doesn't have Kirby standing behind him, but I don't blame him. The Lakers are better off without Magic anyways.

Magic did drop a lil nugget about "if she wants to sell..." It would be for the best. The minority owners are worth billions (each). From what I hear the Buss family is worth $500 milli - which ain't .
