"Tendinopathy" is not a specific diagnosis. It only means, "there is something wrong with the tendon."
It's a blanket term for a wide range of possibilities, in other words.
What about Tim Duncan you POS? Arguably the best player on the team that got you your only ring.

He credited Tim, Tony and Manu...KL just wanted out ASAP. He or someone got into his head that he was bigger than the team...and being with the Spurs and under Pop that wasn't happening...Spurs are team oriented and KL wants to be Kobe, Jordan, KD...basically do what he wants on the court without regard to a team play...etc...so he played the injury card to force his way out of SA...for all the bull that he's quiet/ introvert he's also quite a diva.
Game 2 of the nba finals tonight
Michael C Wright said last year that the Spurs have had problems with his uncle for years. Dennis for years was baiting the Spurs to react to him in a negative way and I think the Spurs just snapped last year. Timvp said in one of his recent posts the situation with the Spurs and #2 were years in the making. What I do believe is that the Spurs got fed up with his uncle antics and last year was the final straw. I'm not even going to say overreact because there is only so much you can take when you are dealing with an overbearing tyrant like Dennis. #2 took the Spurs disrespecting his Uncle as disrespect towards him hence where all of his animosity comes from.
I know some people will say this is the normal NBA but it really isn't. It's not normal for a front office having to bow down to some family member. It's really abnormal how the Raptors have to kiss Uncle Dennis' ass 24/7. I'm not angry at PATFO for dissolving their relationship the way they did because I don't think it was fixable. I have to also be honest with myself and ask myself how would I have handle dealing with Uncle Dennis. In my own life I can't tolerate toxic like behavior so I would have also kicked him to the curb. PATFO screwed up by not trading him to the Celtics for Tatum/Brown when they were offering those 2. Their biggest mistake was actually them thinking this was fixable instead of trying to trade him early last year before the all-star break. They would have gotten some great offers.
BOS never offered either Tatum or Brown much less both.![]()
They did according to several posters on here ala MoSpur but this was before the all-star break last year. Obviously last summer they didn't.
Understood. But that’s what the Spurs claimed. What did Kawhi camp claim? They claimed misdiagnosis...so what was their injury?? And could it legitimately have a player miss 73 games??
Neither the Raptors nor the group will actually say what the injury is. I think the NFL does not allow this hiding of injuries in order to be more transparent to the wagering crowd. The NBA does not have the same policy.
The only person talking for the group is Uncle Dennis, and that b*s is evil. The Raptors are under orders by the "Group" overlords to say nothing and let things play out.
I'm not so sure it was an "injury" that ended the relationship. The end of this relationship is like a marriage where suddenly the wife wants out. There seemingly weren't any substantial problems and the husband getting dumped is caught off guard, shocked and perplexed. A lot of small things built up in the marriage that lead the wife to end it. Similarly with the Spurs, making Kawhi wait a year for that first max contract, seeing how other teams treated their superstars at the ASG, and expecting Kawhi to be happy with the Gasol and Mills signings collectively built up in Kawhi's mind. Just as a young wife who marries an older, successful Type A overbearing man and tires of him, perhaps Kawhi tired of Pop's old school ways.
Then mix in the outside advice of the confused wife's best friend, who tells her you deserve better, you deserve to be happy, divorce that man. Enter Uncle Dennis, the wife's best friend, telling Kawhi he'll be far more successful and happy if he divorces the Spurs. In the separation phase, the wife gets confused and hears all kinds of advice. Emotions run high and perception is reality causing the wife to blow out of proportions the issues she had with the husband. And fanning the flames is that flirting handsome hunk (LAL) she has always been interested in. Eventually emotions run high and the wife finally tells the husband its over. At the end the wife does some sleazy like run up some credit cards up or bad mouth the husband. The wife moves on experiencing happines and success, while the husband is left hurt, depressed and contemplating the what ifs.
Tldr but looks depressing
Yep. And one of the people he draws from is Shaq? Shaq? WTF does he possibly draw from Shaq, except the desire to get paid for commercials?
KL was recently quoted as saying something along the lines that during his time in SA he felt "boxed in" which leads me to think he wasn't happy with the Spurs' team first style of play..he's more kobe than TD...it doesn't help he has someone like Dennis chirping in his ear...it also didn't help that LMA was unhappy and wanted out and once Pop came out saying they would tweak things here and there to get LMA more shots...well I think that did it for KL...as timvp stated...this was years in the making...the blame goes both ways...its never only one side that carries the blame...I don't know how much Pop involved/consulted with KL regarding the team like he would with Tim/Manu/Tony...if he didn't then that's where he really messed up...otoh KL messed up by not speaking up and letting his group do the talking...the Spurs never wanted to lose KL and hindsight is 20/20...they never intended to trade him...the plan was always to reconcile and make him front and center of the team...by that point however it was already to late...they had to trade him and they got what they could
At the 2017 trade deadline they asked Kawhi if he thinks they should make any changes and he said he liked the team and they shouldn't change anything. That team went to the WCF and Zaza happened. Not sure who reported that, but I saw it on hoopshype back then. So they definitley asked him about the roster
I don't have anything at hand, but from what I recall reading, the NY docs apparently took a somewhat different view. They seemed to take it that Kawhi's condition was more muscle-oriented.
The tendon and attached muscle are both affected. They're joined together. Damage the tendon and some effect will be seen in the muscle. And vice versa. So, which is primary?
The San Antonio doctors took it that the tendon was primary, with effect on the muscle secondary. We know that from the report of tendinopathy = "something wrong with the tendon."
Buy the NY docs apparently took it the other way. Which would be "myopathy," I suppose. Meaning, " something is wrong with the muscle."
So apparently there is a kind of different diagnosis, in a way.
Either condition, depending on what it specifically is, could lead to long term treatment and limitation of activity, and pain. The Spurs docs could be right, and it could lead to what we're seeing. Or the NY docs could be right, and, same thing.
Is the glass half empty, or half full? The chicken, or the egg. It's how you look at it.
So, who's right, and what is it really? Nobody the knows. Unless there has been a much more specific diagnosis, a "real" diagnosis, which has not been released. From the vague stuff that's been floated in public you can't tell.
Those who have taken a personal dislike to Kawhi might find consolation in one thing. It is probably true that he frequently experiences pain.
Not stereotypical enough.
Tribalism is the most underrated part of this story. It's played a major role, both from s bag/sleazebag uncle's perspective and the black media's perspective.
Some of us were talking about this a few years ago, how they had to start creating a more cliché NBA environment, more so in an attempt to appeal to external superstars and stars. Turns out, they needed to be worried about their own back yard.
Instead, they buried their head in the sand, continued to drink their "culture" and "system" post '14 Kool-Aid and are now the laughing stock of the league.
I honestly think he's hurt. He's favoring that leg when he runs seems like.
I think that was always the case. SA when Kawhi was cleared never claimed he was not injured. Its a pain tolerance thing and you can see the injury is real (whether this one is related or not). But you can also see he can still play at an insanely high level with the injury.
Kawhi has learned the tricks of public relations this past year to fix his image.
By naming those people they will continue to talk great of him in the media. Everything is very calculated just like him being fake hurt right now.
We all know damn well Shaq didn't inspire in regards to Kawhi![]()
The Spurs did exactly what the Red Wings did - they held onto too long to past glories, the game passed them by, and they don't have the star studded rosters they took for granted. It's pretty interesting how, if you compare both organizations, their stories are pretty much the exact same (Duncan/Yzerman, playoff streak, most respected organization, controversy in the fandom over Parker/Fedorov, etc), but then they diverge when the Red Wings shook up their front office, while the Spurs would rather sit back and hold onto asol and Porky. No wonder Kawhi left - he probably knew this team was going nowhere and said it.
Warriors going to take 1 at Toronto..
If they lost Klay and Looney, it’s still a big blow to them.
Harden-level FT hunting and phantom calls.
