These are average Joe's not the Trumps of the real estate world. By successful I mean people that have as little as 5-10 properties. Maybe I'm naive, but it can't all be bull , imo.
They're people with 5-10 properties who get paid by the publisher to give some bull testimonial about how Rich Dad Poor Dad transformed them from someone who was dirt poor into a real estate mogul

This is petty good. I'm only a few chapters in. I don't know that I buy this but it's interesting to think about.

not really...I'm all over the place with books.

Actually...years ago I read Simulacra and Simulation by Jean Baudrillard.
It's a tough read partly due to the translation and partly due to the subject matter.
But it's fairly short. I think you'd dig it.

Fun fact...in the Matrix, the book can be seen on the floor in a scene.

It's not a coincidence, widely marketed books like Rich Dad Poor Dad always load up on paid-for testimonials to increase sales.
Someone randomly approached me in a bookstore once to recommend that book. I don't even think I was in a relevant section of the store, he just came up to me unsolicited and said I should check it out.

Only time that's ever happened to me.

I got 5 pages into it and stopped because of how stupid it was.

My grandmother has now given it to me for my birthday 3 different times, granted this is the same woman who just got bamboozled out of $6,000 because someone called her and said that her grandson was in jail, didn't want to tell his dad, and needed $6k of bail money

It's not really like that. The podcast I listen to is forum based, and is basically people telling their journeys. Some of the guests you can literally find old posts of them asking questions when they were first starting out. If Rich Dad Poor Dad is brought up there's no testimonial or time spent talking about it. There's still a lot of things to learn/work to do after that spark is ignited and that's what they spend their time talking about.

I'm not sure how something can get brought up if they're not talking about it

You made my point though, it's a cheese book about "igniting that entrepreneurial spark"

The type of people who actually think reading that book accomplishes anything are the same people who buy into Herbalife.

Just believe in yourself. Once you can do that you can convince someone else to believe in you, then you can hoodwink the out of them.

It gets mentioned, not talked about. That's a lot different than giving a testimonial or going in depth about the book itself. The focus is the journey not the book. You're too cynical, imo. It's entirely possible that a book can spark some people.

Dave Ramsey's principles are solid. But yeah the debt free screams are bull . Not that these people didn't pay off their debt, but they are heavily vetted before being allowed on the show so that they help sell/reinforce his brand. They even almost always use a lot of the same goofy terminology he uses.

btw, bummer, i started reading the ebook of "Simulation Hypothesis" but i couldn't get past 30 pages and not because it's a boring read but because i realized my eyes can't take staring at my ipad when it comes to book reading. looks like i'm going to purchase the hardback/softback copy instead.
