CHICAGO (CBS)– At least three people were killed and 40 were wounded in weekend shootings across Chicago.
This weekend total includes four shootings on August 2, 12 shootings on August 3 and five shootings on August 4.
There were two mass shootings overnight in Chicago — both in the West Side’s Lawndale neighborhood.

The latest shooting happened at 18th and Keeler Avenue Sunday around 3:40 a.m. at a block party. Police said eight men were shot and one of them died at the scene.
CBS 2 talked to one of the victim’s relatives outside the hospital. Keith Flowers said his 33-year-old son was killed.
He said his son had just gotten off work and went to hang out with some friends when someone pulled up in a car and shot them.

A good rule of thumb when you're about to post something is to check and see if someone else has basically posted the same thing or sentiment.

No one cares, Cubs. If black lives really do matter, why isn't anyone talking about it? 2 mass shootings in the same city in the same night, and that's not even unusual... yet people act like they need armed escorts to go outside because a white dip shot people at a Walmart or at a bar. I guess if it's commonplace, no reason to talk about it.

idk tbh. i refuse to give them the mentally ill tag because they thoroughly planned out these heinous crimes, friends and families are always shocked and deny any mental illness as well. if i had to guess i'd say you're on to something with pressure to be someone. these white men are privileged and do not like being told no(eliot rodger) and don't like when something they feel belongs to them, this country or their women is put at risk by illegal mexicans and sex crazed black men. xenophia and racism is alive and stronger than ever unfortunately.
I wonder what effect social media is having on these "SAWMS"?
I don't recall so many mass shootings pre-internet.
