Fair enough. In any event, I think the mass shootings in question (as defined by cold blooded attacks on soft-targets) shouldn't be politicized or racialized. Ultimately, the political motivations and race of the suspects is irrelevant. Boiled down, we have a major problem in this country where angry, disaffected, disillusioned people commit cold blooded mass murder. The solution isn't one dimensional, but better gun control is one facet of that solution, and the frustration comes from conservatives not wanting to play ball in figuring out a solution in that regard. Lord Trump was out there blaming in' video games. The tactic on the right is to dig up ANYTHING but the easy access to firearms as a contributor to these shootings, from not enough prayer in schools to Fortnite. It's chicken , because they're deathly afraid of offending their NRA masters.

The mental health crisis is overrated IMO. Suicide rates are lower than any decade post WW2 (bar maybe 00s) & the numbers 40+ years ago were probably much higher than recorded because of the shame & stigma associated with it back then.
Should we dissect each killer's past voting history or social media posts if the killing doesn't have an apparent ideological motivation? I don't think so.
But when the killer says "I'M DOING THIS BECAUSE OF MY IDEOLOGY," it is absolutely relevant, especially when the given ideology and motivations echo statements by elected officials who should know better.
