You can drop an H&K 45 into a frame and have the equivalent of an urban assault weapon. You still have the semi-auto movement with a generic frame, not classified by the ATF as a short barrel rifle so it wouldn't be covered by your "semiauto rifle" ban. You have to legislate the intent, not the generic term when you don't understand the terminology.

You can discuss gun control without knowing about guns, but you are discussing gun laws.
