Is it acceptable for a president to ask for assistance from foreign governments to make up dirt on political rivals?

    Lol, "make up dirt"
"make up" or "provide", either way you wish.

    Did that happen?

and why do you keep asking me questions unrelated to what I post?
Just want to see what your tolerance for abuse of power/office is.

It is too difficult a question for you? It is pretty easy for me.

Again, did that happen? I haven't seen clear evidence. Let's see what comes forward. Case looks weak at the moment.

Is it ok for a President to ask a foreign government to investigate possible corruption in their country?

I'm just watching the goalpost moving.
Both things are in the complaint, the ostensible bribery and the unusual compartmentalization of the call.

    Where's the goalpost move?

I don't even know the crowdstrike story tbh. Something to do with the dnc server/russiagate is all I know. I've heard Hannity types talk about it but it's too convoluted for me to care. There is a justice department investigation into the origin of russia-gate ongoing.

After they've already dropped the case that never had anything to do with the political opponent and his relative and only to hurt that political opponent? No, that is not OK.

Do you think that is OK?

    Yes or no.

Dems are changing their talking points daily.

I don't know why you guys are pretending you're lawyers or pretending this is a legal proceeding. Impeachment is a purely political procedure by design. An impeachable offense is whatever the house says it is. I believe it was Gingrich who when asked why are you impeaching answered "because we can".

So I've only been making two points...

First, I'll believe Dems are actually moving forward with impeachment when they take a floor vote and put their vulnerable members on record. Until then I'll believe they are just hanging the impeachment carrot in front of the base as they have been doing since Trump took office.

Second, I think Dems are losing the public relations battle to get enough support in the country to make impeachment politically beneficial. I could be wrong. This is the only thing Pelosi is trying to figure out now.

I'll add, as of now Dems don't have nearly the evidence to hope for a conviction in the Senate.

The correct way to do it is through a cutout, e.g. Perkins Coie, who can then hire a subcontractor, e.g. Fusion GPS, to do the dirt digging with foreign governments.

It would be more accurate to say they don't have a majority in the Senate, or a President to protect.

Lucky for DJT, it doesn't appear he'll be getting the Benghazi treatment.

Impeachment isn't a judicial process. There's no evidentiary test beyond whatever may be self imposed. It's a political process to rein in lawlessness and maladministration, or whatever a majority of the US House thinks is impeachable.

There was a time when you were one of the better posters because you gave your perspective and were willing to say I don't know. Now you feign being an internet expert on everything and always right. What happened Whinehole, did you come to believe you were going to win something on the internet?

If the public gets on board, the GOP could cave. Trump continually melting down may not help him in this regard.

[repeat of right wing conspiracy theory, evading answering]
Not really an honest answer. My general working theory is that self-identified conservatives aren't honest. Not answering good faith, honest questions tend to support that.

I don't think I'm going to win anything.

Pointing out the weakness of your contribution to this thread isn't the same as insisting whatever I said is right.

You're smart enough to see that, I think. You got the Ukraine timeline wrong, why not take your lumps in humility like a mensch?

Of course I'll wait for more traditional polls in the coming days, but it doesn't look like the Democrats need much PR at all.
