Anyway, I know it's a SpursTalk tradition to trash Tony, but he's a good guy...and he's a Spurs legend. I know he wanted more playing time, and now he'll get it. But it's sad that he's not retiring a Spur.

He's just playing for a paycheck now. Great move for the Spurs, tbh.

Damn, this is horrible news! TP should retire as a Spur! Now we have no pg except a rookie who still turns the ball over too much/ can’t score! Hope the stick has worked out in the off season on learning how to shoot/pass the ball!

I'll keep the nice thoughts for the appreciation thread and make this post strictly about basketball

Great news, 3 years too late..thankfully, he had that throwback series out of nowhere against Memphis, but outside of that, it has been an ugly decline..Spurs needed to move and I'm genuinely surprised that they actually did..

Good for him getting paid and he'll actually play a prominent role with Charlotte..hopefully he stays healthy..

What an amazing run. Seems like yesterday that I was celebrating the Spurs picking the speedy point guard from France who I thought could be a good change of pace backup point guard for a few years before hopefully one day being starting material. Little did we know that he'd be thrown into the fire a couple weeks into his rookie season and play better than anyone thought possible. Handling nightly Pop tirades before he could legally drink, dominating playoff games against HOF PGs from his very first year, leading transitions from the Four-Down Era to the Penetrate And Kick Era to the Beautiful Game Era, playing with an unbreakable confidence in himself and an unbreakable trust in Pop's directions, and the list goes on.

If David Robinson was the foundation of the championship era, Tim Duncan was the backbone and Manu Ginobili was the heart, Tony Parker was the engine that made it go.

    Thank you.

A part of the winningest trio of all time, 4 time NBA champion, best floater and spin-move all time, one of the quickest to every play the game, and most points in the playoffs of any point guard in NBA history. He's a living legend and it will be bizarre seeing him in another jersey.

On a side note, TP should pay my NC state income taxes now that he's officially a NC resident.

Agreed one of the best at finishing inside and his floater was on point. He scored inside as much as many big men. That said he was a big reason for several playoff outs.

Damn, some salty mod just erased by thread or something. So, I'll just say it here for posterity; TP will be back for his 20th (or 21st) season to retire as a Spur. Unless he falls apart well before then. Then, the Spurs will sign him on for a remainder of a season.

    "I met Clint Eastwood"

    "Tony Parker ed my wife"
