Why would I add a "W" to the end of it, if I was referring to you?
tech education
Cuz your last couple of comments were directed towards me and it's easy to have a typo.....Yup and I don't regret goin to Tech over UT at all and gettin my education and degree for free not to mention a good salary job afterwards. But I don't see how any of that is relevent towards posting on this forum though.
Well, back to recruiting...OrangeBloods reporting that 2013 DT Vincent Taylor of San Antonio Madison has been invited to the first Junior Day and will be in attendance. He's also planning to be in Baton Rouge for LSU's Junior Day on February 4th. That could be the team to watch in his recruitment since he's a Louisiana native. I'm definitely surprised by this move since I like 2013 DT Isaiah Golden much more.
QB, Tyrone Swoopes, Whitewright
WR, Jake Oliver, Dallas Jesuit
OL, Darius James, Killeen Harker Heights
OL, Kent Perkins, Richardson Lake Highlands
OL/DL, Jake Raulerson, Celina <------------ **also visiting Jan. 27th-28th
OL/DL, A'Shawn Robinson, FW Arlington Heights
DT, Justin Manning, Dallas Kimball
DT, Vincent Taylor, San Antonio Madison
S, Marcell Harris, South Lake (Groveland, FL)
S, Kameron Miles, West Mesquite
ATH, Ricky Seals-Jones, Sealy
Texas won't have many scholarships for the 2013 class. DT seems to be packed at the moment, do you think we will go for more than one DT in the 2013 class? I guess that it depends on how we finish the 2012 class but I am intrigued as to how many they will offer in the DT position.
Only butthurt fans from butthurt schools use the t-shirt fan argument. It's the dumbest ing argument in college sports.
I do not know how reliable this website is but look what it says, "It appears that Springfield (Mo.) Hillcrest wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham (6-6, 225) may have narrowed his decision down to Arkansas and Texas."

Back to back posters made the exact same typo, adding a letter that is nowhere close to the letters "J" and "G"?

So basically if he simply wants to stay close to home, he takes Arkansas.
But if he wants to go where he really wants to go, he takes Texas.
It's nice knowing that Texas is almost certainly his most preferred destination in terms of how much he likes the program.
I have the same question. I've seen reports that the staff may only take one, but that doesn't seem like a wise move to me. I hope they take at least two just to be on the safe side. BFLT hinted that the staff could be more selective at this year's Junior Day with their offers. I have to think Taylor falls in that category if that's what the staff chooses to do. He's definitely not a no-brainer offer like most on the current list. I'm genuinley curious what they see in him that they like more than Golden, unless Golden has yet to receive an invite or he has grade issues.
I think it's been down to those two for a while now if you take into consideration everything that's been going on at OU. I agree with Shuttlesworth that if Texas has their QB situation at least stable, DGB picks the Horns. LB Jordan Hicks' recruitment back in 2010 is the best comparison I've seen so far for this situation. The out-of-state kid that can easily choose the school close to home but ends up going where he's most comfortable. Hopefully it turns out that way because I think Texas will win out if he bases it on that.
2013 OL Ishmael Wilson of Dallas Bishop Dunne will be attending the first Junior Day as well, per Inside Texas. He's another Louisiana native that would jump at an LSU offer but there's no word if he's been invited to Baton Rouge yet. He's your typical mean, SEC type lineman.

Otis Kirk also covers Arkansas for their 247 Sports affiliate. Apparently he's cover the Hogs for over 20 years.
Inside Texas also saying its those two also.
From what I've gathered, yes the staff will be more selective at Junior Days. I think it's important to project the numbers and how many Texas needs for each position.
For instance, speaking hypothetically, that Texas probably needs 2 WRs in 2013 and they invite 4 to the Junior Days. Obviously Texas is going to evaluate all 4 against each other and offer 2.
With that in mind, Vincent Taylor receiving an invitation is very interesting. It's safe to assume Texas needs 1-2 DTs in 2013. Manning is likely their number 1 choice, does the staff bring in Isiah Golden to compare the two? I certainly hope so. I like Golden better.
In my opinion, the Junior Days are going to shift slightly from automatic offer weekends to evaluation weekends. Texas will still offer the no brainers, but for the borderline guys it might be another chance for Texas to evaluate them. Most schools treat Junior Days this way.
Nice shyne. Yeah I would call that 2 independent sources.
It's from the big cigar he's usually right on with his stuff
It's likely Wilson over Gustafson right now. It might change with LSU as Wilson's favorite. I think both should be invited to Junior Days. I've heard different things on Gustafson: 1) Texas is backing off because he's a TAMU lean and 2) His coaches are telling people that Texas is interested and communicating with them about Gustafson. Gustafson might not be at Junior Days, but he'll almost certainly get a spring evaluation. Hopefully' we'll see some movement here. I've Gus in person, he is the real deal. Elite feet.
OrangeBloods also spoke with 2013 OL Josh Thomas of Shreveport, LA today and he says he hasn't heard from Texas yet on Junior Days, but his coach is saying he's confident Thomas has an invite. He will attend Junior Days for Alabama and LSU as well. Confusing update but they're supposed to post more later. I won't add him for now.

This is my hope. I only want the no-brainer prospects offered at first, but you tell the others that they're firmly on the radar and will be evaluated further in the spring. I suspect the staff will go that route if the Junior Day list continues to grow. Makes you wonder who they have in mind for the second Junior Day. I didn't think the initial list would get past 15 or so, but it's already at 12 (13 with Thomas) and growing quickly. Some big names are still missing; RB Keith Ford, RB Dontre Wilson, ATH Chevoski Collins, DB Antwuan Davis, etc.
2013 OL Ishmael Wilson will be attending LSU's Junior Day on February 4th. If he's offered by the Tigers, Texas may not even get a shot at him.
