David West and Boris Diaw will look like undersized PG's standing next to their frontcourt counterpart....

I'll be happy if he can just get rebounds. Second and third chance points seemed to happen so many times vs the bench
This is true..I don't expect him to play much, but it would be nice to not get manhandled in the paint by a scrub like Big Baby Davis in the playoffs..

    Tony,Mcullom
    Green,Manu/Mills
    Kawhi,Anderson/Diaw, Reggie Williams 2.0
    Aldridge,West
    Timmy,Boban, Baynes 2.0

I think the Spurs are done treating Anderson and Diaw as 4s. Seems pretty risky. I think there's a considerable injury/slump risk in the bench. Manu/West are going down, maybe Boban. McCullom/Anderson is gonna slump, book it. I don't think Aldridge/Duncan is sooo much of an upgrade over Diaw/Duncan. I especially run my tongue against plaquey teeth, when it sets in that it took turning Anderson/Splitter into West/Boban. All the while, keeping Diaw and Anderson, to play behind Kawhi. And trading in Cojo for McCullom. But the thing about the trades is, there was no trade. hardly any return. just lopsided switching.

He was really a monster during last euroleague...he dominated EVERY single center in Europe. I saw him play vs Samardo Samuels (ex cavs) and the dude cannot buy a bucket to save his life

He seems to have a high basketball IQ, knows where to be on the floor. He'll fit in well on both sides of the court! He may not guard main bigs on opposing team but his help defense will be great.

Oh holy , I just saw this. I've been talking about the Spurs signing him. He really wanted to come to the NBA, and was talking like he would come fairly cheap. Always hard to say how their games will translate, but this is a GREAT pickup IMO. And, yeah, he's been very solid in EuroLeague. All the wrestling in the NBA will take some getting used to, but he's strong.

BTW - they call him Bobi.

the DX scouting video is outdated even, he had a much improved year in 14-15, but the weaknesses with his speed aren't going away

I know Pop's ancestry is Serbian but does he speak the language?
Yes, when we brought Nesterovich over, Pop went over there and chatted him up in his native language. Nesterovich didn't work out, but Pop can (or at least USED to be able to) speak Serbian.

I'd say Nesterovic worked out. He was good for us, if dopey, he just wound up too expensive.

Does anyone remember the movie One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest with Jack Nicholson. Remember the basketball game with the giant Indian striding down the floor and taking a pass and dunking it. That's what this guy looks like--The Chief.

Spurs just trolling the league now. He's built like a custom player I drunkenly created on xbox just to laugh as he towers over everyone and dunks from five feet away without leaving the ground.

Keep in mind, Ayers was adequate playing spot minutes against second string guys and his hands were made out of whatever it is they use to make those bouncy balls. Throw this guy in there against some scrub who's main skill is "has potential"? Duncan and Mills will get tennis elbow from waiving their towels on the bench.

As a signing, it is no risk, all reward. Worst case, simply due to the fact that he's 7'4", 300 lbs and has a standing reach of 9'7" teams will have to account for him on both offense and especially defense, opening up room for the rest of our bench to operate. Best case? The Spurs' developmental staff gets to work on him and they have another diamond.
