Wow. Is this a rumor? If I'm Tech, I'm saying that.
Dan Beebe is a weasel and only concerned for himself. On top of that, not a single school has agreed to stay in the Big XII beyond 2016...at the latest. That gives you five seasons at the most before this very same situation comes up again. This is short-term fix as realignment was moving too fast for most.

nope. http://gazetteonline.com/blogs/docs-...as-oklahoma-am
Tech's BOR are meeting as we speak to make their final decision. I'm sure they are pretty pissed about being left out of the money both in the buyout and annual earnings. Not like they have much leverage but well see what they do.
That would be ing awesome if they could blow this up.
I wish lol.
Wow..............If I were Tech, ............If I were any of those schools Id say off. I cant be bought. Go to another conference. You may not make as much, but you will be respected. Texas, OU and A&M are crooks. And they could give two s about any of the other schools in the Big 12. That is why Colorado and Nebraska bolted.
but Baylor, Ksate, KU, IowaSt, Missouri don't have a pac-10 or big10 to bolt to. no way they risk having to join the sunbelt conference.
Tech and Oklahoma State are a different story.. assuming they still have an offer to join the Pac10... and that's a pretty big assumption.
True, but couldnt the left overs create a new conference with TCU and Houston involved??? Just sayin
I guess it's better than delusions of suck
Not likely. Tech knows they aren't any of those other teams, even if their fans don't.
yeah, I still think Tech could have held out a bit. What was the rush to say yes right now?
I guess in the end the regents realized there was no getting out of getting bent over, so just say wtf and take the $17 mill that they are leaving on the nightstand.
Held out? Where were they going to go? I haven't heard anything about Tech having an invite to another major conference that wasn't contingent on Texas coming with them.
hold out till mizzou gets an invite from the big 10 if it can't land ND. Then the situation would be more dire and TT would have more leverage than just bending over and accepting more inequality in compe ion.
But you wouldn't know that with Chip Brown and Orangebloods firmly caked in your throat.
Mizzou clearly doesn't see an invite from the Big Ten coming any time soon or it wouldn't have run back to the Big XII on its knees.
I didn't allude to them threatening to leave.
I just think they didn't have to sign on the dotted line so quickly.
What would have happened if Tech said "maybe" and the regents just sat on their asses on through this upcoming season?
even though the cornholing was inevitable, at least Tech could have gotten a bit more pub out of it. I enjoyed the 3 minutes of pub that they got for holding out until this past Tuesday
Hey, Someone sent me this article and it had to do with all this realignment.
Lemme know what yall think of it...

lame blog that failed in the opening paragraph
The only way Missouri gets an invite to the Big Ten is if it is the 14th or 16th team and either Notre Dame or Texas joins, otherwise Missouri over played their hand badly and now has to watch Texas become an even bigger cash cow.
I think Tech made the smart play, because the rivalries with UT and A&M are the only thing that makes them a national draw. Trying to keep everything up in the air a little longer just for a little extra money could have toppled the whole thing and put them looking for a spot in the Mountain West. Again, all twelve teams from the conference made out from this deal. There's not a realistic scenario for anyone that would have been more beneficial.
I think Tech made the only play they could make.
Even if the Pac10 still offered, it would make no sense for Tech to move on it's own for any number of reasons.
I just wanted to see Tech pout a little longer about this blatant unfairness....
