Well, if someone says "plenty" of times should be able to describe at least 6-7 of those situations, not just 2.

I always use raw production and advance stats to rate a player.

Again, not sure how that is an argument against Kawhi being the best defender in the league, even if it were true. What is true is that Lebron's attempts drop massively when Kawhi is covering him. Lebron is the best player in the world, and I don't think anyone's expecting him to be shut down.
You're a rotten troll. I assume you're a rotten regular poster as well.
Actually if you're going to challenge people's memory of the game saying something re ed like "plenty of times" and you can't actually recite back any...
I can think of three times that Lebron got to the hoop with Kawhi in the game. One ended in Lebron throwing the ball up and hitting the underside of the basket, resulting in a foul call. Another ended with Kawhi blocking the shot off the glass. I don't think any of them were one on one and all came off screens.
But I recorded the game. I'm happy to go back and find all the one on one matchups between them and list them.
I remember Lebron having one dunk that was off a post up against Manu. Is that what you're thinking of?
Pop should rest Leonard against GS next week. Tim and the system will be more than ok.
Maybe the Spurs could even luck out and trade Leonard. Any old player will look good in the Spurs system.
Scottie Pippen actually said something similar back in the day about Bruce Bowen having Tim Duncan behind him and implied that is why he was able to be the defender he was. Pippen said he'd be the best defender too if he had Duncan behind him. I didn't like the comment at the time as he wasn't really giving Bruce his due, but deep down, I guess it does help a decent amount having someone like TD backing you up.

It seems a bad idea going iso against Kawhi, even if you're LeBron James.
Agree. We need trade this disgrace of defender who letf LeBron blew past him plenty of times...I'd would love to see Kawhi playing for the Rockets, Clippers, Thunder against our guards and small forwards...
The thing is that Kawhi NEVER leaves the floor for defensive purposes meanwhile Tim gets benched when teams are playing small-ball even during crunch time DURING the postseason (2013: Warriors/Heat).
How come the years between Bowen and Leonard were so dismal? Any old player should have looked good. Finley, Jefferson, etc should have worked.
Good to see some hate for non-Spurs players for a change...![]()
Lebron is giving credit to what he wishes he has. He's taking a subtle jab at his own team. Tim gets 4 dribbles in the paint and no one comes to help. No superstar will say someone else has their number. They will instead credit the team defense. Coaches do the same thing. It's nothing disrespectful.
TBF, reporters were asking if KL was containing LBJ. Maybe, he was. Is he supposed to admit that? Of course, he's going to make it about a broader issued like team defense. This isn't the same as Durant calling KL a system player, imo.
The player still has to be pretty good, though. But yea, it helps.
It'll all be Boban.
So I just went back and watched the entire game.
Lebron went one on one four times in the game, not counting post ups. Two were against Duncan and one was against Aldridge. The two post ups were against Kawhi, with one airball and one non-shooting foul. Lebron probably scored between five and nine points in the entire game with Kawhi checking him, three of them on a jump shot that he took off the dribble because Kawhi hadn't set up yet. Lebron scored on a layup in a two man game with Kawhi fronting him, and Lebron scored another layup on an offensive rebound. Lebron got past Kawhi without a screen in the final minute of the game and drew two defenders and dished to Thompson for a dunk. Most of the game was pick and roll, with teammates throwing screens at him so frantically they were sometimes coming two at a time. Even with a lot of help, Lebron's offense was nearly nonexistent with Kawhi on him.
Lebron casually went through everyone to dunk the ball precisely zero times in the game. One on one, Lebron blew past Kawhi precisely one time in the game, down ten with less than a minute to go. Lebron got past Kawhi several times in pick and roll, and Kawhi's help picked Lebron up, just like Lebron's help set the pick on Leonard. On one of them, Kawhi recovered and blocked Lebron's shot, on another, Lebron got all the way to the basket and got a phantom foul call. Tough row to hoe with Kawhi checking you.
Dismissing Kawhi's defense saying "he had help" in pick and roll is beyond re ed, as pick and roll requires an offensive player to have help.
OP is overanalyzing LeBron's quote, tbh.
You don't know what you're talking about. Kawhi is the common denominator in each of the spurs best defensive lineups, not Duncan. Duncan doesn't even play 27 minutes per game.
Lebron probably heard barkley's comments tbh
I hope you wore a condom.
i really dont get it why people idolize lebron
he is nothing .....
example, physically he is nothing compared to Chamberlain or Sabonis
mentally, Da Vinci and Jose Rizal of the Philippines say HI
spiritually, lets not even get into it.....its beyond the brains of lebron
so what is lebron??
here is the answer:
LEBRON JAMES IS ANOTHER DOG WHO SHALL BE FORGOTTEN IN A HUNDRED YEARS!
PERIOD. END OF STORY.
Thanks for going back and listing the plays.![]()
Typical Spurfan overreaction. I never said he was a scrub. Just not the hero that you are making him out to be. Just because I'm not deepthroating his D like you guys doesn't mean that I don't think he's a decent player.
You saw what the Warriors did to the Cavs that the Spurs let come back, right?
