What an absolute joke of an organization. With Primo, the FO's obsession with "high character" guys revealed itself to be the farce that it is. You have an absolute waste of a pick ostensibly justified by the vetting performed during the combine - vetting that supposedly showed Primo to be a "mature" cultural fit - all of which turned out to be egregiously wrong. Actually, it that decision and that pick weren't just wrong - it's actually an existential threat to the organization. Litigation over allegations of sexual assault, in this social climate and in this league, is nothing short of disastrous. It kills the brand that supposedly prioritizes character, maturity, etc... You can't make those claims when Buzbee is arguing to a jury that SS&E chooses 19 year olds with "trauma" who flash their s to multiple women.
Choosing players based on their character - not talent - is misguided. The whole purpose of picking "high character guys" is to ensure cohesion and stability - it's to ensure that this exact scenario never happens. But it did. Primo laid bare that this organization can't accurately vet and find the real "high character guys." From an ownership perspective, your diversity hire GM, senile coach, and absentee/drunk CEO have hurt your brand, cost your compe iveness, and opened you up to litigation. That is the definition of failed leadership.
