The Jazz issued a press release and the NBA spokesman said it, so I don't think Malone can change his mind now. Obviously he's made the decision. The broadcaster in Utah who had his story all over the place this morning about Malone signing with SA obviously has bad sources.
Well, crap. I never wanted him to come here, but then you guys got me all freaked out about the Zo/Shaq tandem at Miami, and now I find myself in the odd position of being disappointed.
So now what do we do to beat Miami in the Finals, should it come to that?
So, who do you sign now for front-cout help? I don't know. It would be tough to beat Miami if they sign Zo...

What's weird about the AP articles, etc. is that none of them say that Malone or Manley informed them. It's just like an NBA spokesman said it, the Jazz issued a press release, and that's it. I'm not saying that he's not retiring, but no quotes from his agent is odd.all saying the same thing...Malone has informed the NBA he is retiring.
Spurs fans better get used to this. You want Karl Malone ... now deal with the distractions.
Malone's camp caught wind of that other article saying Malone to sign with the Spurs. They new they needed to do something else to keep Malone's name in the spotlight. Now they have everyone thinking Malone will retire ... but as he's ready to cross the I's and dot the T's on his retirement papers he's going to put on his superman cape and fly to San Antonio to save the struggling Spurs and carry them to a championship.

Maybe his agent is mad because he'll have no more paydays (or publicity).
I know that is your biggest nightmare, but I'm completely disagreeing with you. I've said for months that I think he's retiring. I think I'm right.
The article on MSNBC quotes Manley...he says KM gave the Spurs consideration before deciding to retire and KM will give more details on Sunday.
