OP is like the Chinese version of KBP
Does he say 'brother' or 'brotherhood'?
Roger Mason looks like he got the flu
This advertisement must be targeted at the vast market in China. Yet it's still nice to hear Timmy speaking Chinese.
tim duncan sees dollar signs....
It's one of the clips from adidas' latest campaign. Some of them are here, and there's a link in the thread to the clip that kicked off the campaign, 'The Run'.

it's not TD's doing. TMac picked all the black kids and left Tim all those Chinese kids.
Can you blame him? He has to play next to Yao - maybe he was trying to find a new point guard ...
'brother'
bortherhood is another pronunication, although it's similar
Thanks.
nope
In fact , nowadays quite a lot americans can speak Chinese, i am shocked by it
When i ask them that why do they learn Chinese, they answerd me that just because of the Chinese food.
Well, Maybe China still has many negative affairs to deal with but at least I am proud of my chinese food, it's delicious
its pussy man, they like the ratio also
they should have just added the extra word so he can complete the word brotherhood.
No, what TD said was brotherhood instead of brother.
I've never heard TD spoke English at such a high speed, I think that's precisely why some of you guys neglected the "hood". And I don't think there is any obvious diference between brother and brotherhood in pronounciation. It was also obvious that TD had practised these words "how do say 'brotherhood' in chinese", otherwise he could hardly fly out so smoothly.
Plus, it's not so amazing to here TD speak Chinese. Judging by his face and poor english speaking, it's not too hard to find that TD is "chinese american", in fact TD's hometown is vrigin islands but not mainland US. Although TD is a great basketball player and has lived in US for many years, but he still looks so "rural", just like most chinese people.![]()
Duncan:"兄弟"
Thanks for the information.
Also, you are very observant. I missed the small error of translation on "brother" & "brotherhood".
well well well
Brother = 兄弟(it means brother in chinese)
brotherhood= 兄弟情 (it means brotherhood in chinese)
to our english learner, brotherhood is like a relationship between brothers
is it correct?
I'm thinking the same. Maybe in an ad, the simpler the better. So "兄弟" instead of "兄弟情".
Are you Chinese?
Look at your flag you are from Hong Kong so that you speak Cantonese , right?
Are you in the states right now?
no. it's much broader than that. it's not about blood relations.
tim spoke a word of chinese. it doesn't mean he can speak chinese.
I assume Duncan was taught the word for the ad, and editing could have made sure he got it right.
For what it's worth, he did take a Chinese Lit class at Wake.
Well, let me to make a sentence
Brotherhood:
"Soldiers who are fighting together often have a strong feeling of brotherhood"
is it right?
How do you know that Timmy took a Chinese Lit class at Wake?
are you his classmate?
No, I'm not a classmate.
Duncan's my specialty, I'm fairly educated on him. The Lit class is mentioned in some of his bios.
