I'd rather switch Hill with Blair, but I would be pretty happy if this went down... it would add toughness for sure. Tyrus is a dumbass though.
Jefferson Hill and McDyess for Stephen Jackson and Tyrus Thomas
What do you think ST black and bold?
I'd rather switch Hill with Blair, but I would be pretty happy if this went down... it would add toughness for sure. Tyrus is a dumbass though.
Cho, their new gm recently said that he's gonna try and build them in the same mold as okc, meaning he wants to aquire draft picks and talented young assets. Whos contract is longer Jefferson or Jackson? If they're gonna trade one of their young guys they'd probably want at least Hill and Blair, but I think they would make an easy trade partner because theyre probably gonna wanna tank next season for a chance at that #1 pick. Maybe they would take Jefferson because he does=tank.
Not sure but Jefferson will definitely get you the better draft pick.
jeffersons only 30 and jacksons 33. RJ's contract is only 1 year longer than jacksons. they would get young talent and im pretty sure they would be willing to unload thomas because they want to draft one of the PF from UT. actually they want to unload some of there PF's so this is realistic. guaranteed trade if jordan gets involved.
Jefferson, Hill, Blair, Dice, 29th pick, future draft picks for Jackson, Thomas and the 19th pick?
Great trade. Alack, the FO is probably too conservative or gun-shy to explore deals like these, for sooth.
I'd do that for sure. We've missed Jackson in san antonio. Both have very reasonable contracts for what they bring to the table. Like proxy said id rather switch hill with blair but yep i'd love it if that went down either way.
Duncan
Thomas
Jackson
Ginobili
Parker
Length, athleticism, offence and defense. That's a nice starting lineup.
jordan is dumb but not that dumb. trading 2 of his top 3 players for our role players? a much more likely scenario is:
Parker-Jefferson for Jackson-Augustine
Spurs wouldn't do that then. If the bobcats wanted Parker to get the deal done it would have to be Parker and RJ for Thomas Jackson and Augustin, he's a decent PG and we'd need that after getting rid of tony.

I would love that trade except the future draft picks...I would be willing throw in Neal though...draft Singleton if he's there
Duncan/FA
Thomas/Bonner/FA
Jackson/Butler/SIngleton
Manu/Anderson
Parker/FA
PG options: Earl Watson, Tracy Mcgrady?, Dragic(if there is a MLE option),Arroyo
C options:Przybilla,Foster,Haddadi,Yao(if there is a MLE option),Nazr
PF option:Kwame Brown?, Glen Davis(if there is a MLE option),McRoberts,Humphries(if there is a MLE option),Shawne Williams, Carl Landry(if there is a MLE option)
I would of put Chandler up there but I think he will stay with the mavs, and the same for Nene,Oden also but would be nice if he came here, and was healthy so the Spurs can build around him for the future if he stays healthy somehow.
jordan is cheap but this would go to another level
They're not in build mode, they're in destroy mode, and they're not going to want to rebuild around a 29 YO PG when they're done destroying. Just look at what they did last year. They traded their best player and All Star for a bag of chips from POR. IF they're truly following the OKC plan, they don't even want an AS PG to mess up their required 2-3 years of losing bad to get into the top 5 of the draft.
This. This is why the trade isn't too far fetched.
I just love these "trade a non contender to get a non contender" suggestions.
None of the Bobcats, or all of them in fact, would make us a contender for the ring. We need a legit center and a solid backup PG.
duncan
dalembert
prince
parker
manu
and try and get Sjax back.
Disagree on the pg..... a back-up point guard is less needed than having a decent option with some size at small forward. Honestly a Hill-Ginobli platoon running point can be successful for 15 minutes or so per game which is all Parker should actually need. Jefferson is a declining player who is/was dependent on his athleticism for getting most of his points on fastbreaks or drives, and is something of a streak shooter. His defense was at best only moderately above average when he was interested playing with the Nets with Kid and has declined since. When interested he does a decent enough job nothing spectacular but when plays aren't being run for him 1 trip in 3 down the floor his concentration disappears and he can never seem to really get back into the flow of the game.
I'm no longer a big fan of getting Jackson back. Two years ago when he was on the market I really liked the idea, but there is a big difference in NBA career terms for 33 and 31. He's now an older player used to being the focal point of a team. Also after all this time and this many teams how much ins utional knowledge is likely to be left, which was one of the stronger arguments for him in the first place?
Jack is one of those players who's age really doesn't matter. He's never been overly quick or athletic. What he has been is a cold blooded playoff shooting assassin. If you plug him in at SF, even his ball handling shortcomings mostly disappear. He's also like Neal, in that he doesn't need to shoot from the corner to be effective. The Grizz were giving us all we could eat on the high angle 3 pointers, they just shut down the corners.
where is this rumoured?
Its internal, like in his head.
I would agree with this statement. That has to be Jordan's gameplan right now. Make a load of $$$ as much as possible in the next 3-4 years before the fans figure out the teams' goal is actually to lose and then cash in a bunch of picks and start the rebuilding process. Whether or not he'll actually start spending $$$ at that point is debatable however.![]()
With the Bobcats looking for help at the guard position and they seem to like George Hill I would try for a Hill and Jefferson for SJax and a 1st round pick. SJax would be an excellent addition to the 3 plus with the Bobcats you may end up with a lottery pick at some point. In addition RJ would fit into their offense much better than ours. Augustin is more of a distributor than Tony.
