he had i think 6 children with one of his slaves, sally hemming which has a wild backstory. that slave was inherited from his wife's family. and that slave herself was half black/half white. jefferson's father in law, john wayles, banged his slave, and Sally Hemming was the product of that. so basically thomas jefferson was married to John Wayle's legitimate daughter while also banging his illegitimate daughter
jefferson actually took her to france, and while overseas, she eventually negotiated with jefferson such that each of their children would have their freedom when they turned 21, though she remained and died a slave.
