Instead of wasting half a season trying to make him a PG, we should have had him in the film room studying Dennis Rodman. He is about the same size as Dennis. Have him watch, study, and practice rebounding for at least an hour or two a day. Practice so much that he starts to read the funky angles of shots and the bounces off the backboard and rim, and as able to quickly adjust and attack the ball before opponents.

The one thing Dennis had that Sochan doesn't is CRAZY. Dennis was crazy in the head. He used it to his advantage to mentally challenge his opponents. He was use sexual antics to get opposing players to get upset and it would distract them from their game. He would use leverage, angles, and just be an all out pest all game long. He would also trash talk non stop. Draymond Green plays similar to Dennis. He plays dirty, talks lots of trash, and just does what he can to get at you mentally, so you forget about simply playing basketball.

Sochan is more reserved. But, if he can at least learn how to rebound better by watching Dennis, that would be a great thing.

One area Dennis really excelled at was boxing out. I guarantee if Jeremy can learn to box out the way Dennis did, his rebounding will go up by at least 4-5 per game.

Honestly, if I were Pop and Sochan, I would call Dennis and see if he would be willing to coach Jeremy in the offseason.

I'm not as down as many/most others are about Sochan's stint at PG. I think it made him a better all around player, firget distributor. If you've ever played pick up ball you know that running point makes you see the court in different ways than he ever would have just flashing for jump shots or back doors.

He almost had a triple double playing point. I'm very bullish on Jeremy and his long range contributions for this team.

Yeah, I think we are going to see a very big growth to his game this upcoming season - I agree though with Wemby he just needs to play good D and box out and get those rebounds and when open shoot the 3 ball with confidence

The PG experiment didn't last half the season but a little bit more than ONE month... Could we stop using that excuse?

As for Rodman, he was a totally different person, diff background and personality, traumas etc He also didn't become the Rodman we're refering to before the 2nd part of his career.

I get the comparison but it's a mistake imo, it's a diff era of bb, you can't defend the same way and Sochan can't change who he is.

Sochan isn't a bad boy, he's more a troll. I've watched him when he had some altercations and his reaction is more to laugh like a kid who got cought

What he needs to do is focus on his shooting and all his fundamentals, passing, ball handling court vision etc and sustain his defensive productions for longer periods than he does, not trying to immitate a player

I was fine with the pick when we made it but after 2 seasons it's time to move on from him. He does not have one high let alone elite nba skill.

Calling Dennis Rodman and inviting him over seems like a bad ideas, no matter how good a rebounder he was

His game isn’t anything like Rodman’s.

He should try to follow Aaron Gordon’s template (from Denver, not Orlando). Improve his shooting just enough so that it’s respected, move better without the ball to make use of the attention Wemby gets and defend as well as possible on the perimeter. His ability to dribble a little and generate a little bit of offense is a bonus.

He's older, therefore he can be a "mentor"-- what could possibly go wrong?? Maybe Kim Jung Un could give Jeremy some pointers too! Who knows more about performing on a global stage and demanding respect from his peers?

    Yup, "just" that.

Not presuming anything, but I haven't seen anything on my part that tells me we'll necessarily see any more growth than the marginal and natural one young players get with experience.

He can't really rebound cos he's undersized and not that strong, and he can't shoot the 3 cos he's just not a shooter. and if defense isn't that great , like it wasn't this year, then he's just not a starting PF in this league.

Sochan is doing fine. For a wing, year 3 is usually when things pick up. Guards are year 4.

As a year two player, he was asked to mark the best player on the other team that wasn't a big. Steph, Durant, Fox, Tatum, etc. That's a big bloody deal.

People need to stop trying to make him Dennis Rodman. He’s never going to average 15 boards.

Don’t know if anyone else noticed, but he stopped wild coloring his hair towards the end of the year, just going plain blonde.

I noticed his hair was all one color, just can't remember if it was blonde or natural......

Side note: Dennis Rodman had a unique talent that I've not seen any other player ever possess. It's like the man could see geometry, trig and motion dynamics play out in his vision like Little Man Tate (reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Man_Tate). His ability wasn't something that can, or ever will be, learned.

Plus he could get a hard-on when Karl Malone was backing him down.

The whole ing team did a job of passing to Victor for most of the season. If there was anything more frustrating to watch than that, it could only be the coaching staff's inability to fix it.

You can blame Sochan at point guard and you can blame Victor at power forward, but Zach Collins at center is likely higher on the list than either of those. Full disclosure, I am a Baylor fan and was done with Collins pretty early on. Maybe it was all on Jeremy, but far too many journalists who didn't watch any games are living off blaming him for the team sucking.

He was good at reading where the ball would come off the rim and get into position for the rebound and he would also stretch as much as possible to tip the ball far enough from the defender but not far enough for him to not get to after the initial tip.

Moses Malone would also read the ball off the shot and would even get his own missed shots and reshoot it .

Sochan doesn't play as agressive. I've seen Sochan not even jump for balls coming off the rim.

Question if he improves his 3 ball do you think he could get playing time at the 3?

Rodman was a freak athlete and also a freak. Sochan's athleticism and personality are more subdued.

    Absolutely.
Once in a while last season he had proper stroke on his treys and was spinning them in.

Needs to get consistent. Should have been a priority all along.
