That's got to be the ticket, regardless of who is the presidential candidate and who is VP.

The focus MUST be winning back the purple wall, or else those states will keep trending red off a cliff and stay red forever. , Illinois was a pathetic 8% margin in favor of Harris, and 5% in Minnesota. There's clear exodus across the board in the Democratic party in the upper Midwest and they must do their damnedest to stop the bleeding, because there really isn't another realistic pathway to the White House for the Democrats considering how far red Texas and Florida have trended.

My money all along since Spring 2020 was that Gretchen Whitmer was going to be the first female President in U.S. History. She's a vindictive, powerful boss lady in the mold of a reverse-DeSantis. Kamala just never gave off alpha woman vibes, like ever, and Hillary was a coattail rider, a killer, unlikeable, and full of myriad scandals.

    What do you think?

her Covid policy in 2020 was worse... but Trump's sure done a lot of "offputting" stuff and Vance, the likely 2028 GOP Nominee, has made some "offputting" gaffes in his day.

I said earlier this year that Harris was stupid not picking Shapiro in the first place over taking Walz,,,, Democrats have learned their lesson in running women at the top of the ticket,,,, Shapiro would be the top dog with Whitmer as VP nominee. Micelle Obama would be the only one that would have a chance at winning it, tbh,,,,,

I just think running back to back black women would look like the Dems are the DEI party... Mic e also failed to get Kamala over the hump or replace her, tbh.

I agree with you it's got to be Shapiro. I mean, the Jewish vote took a MASSIVE rightward turn, look at the margins in New Jersey, New York, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Illinois, with results still to come in Jewish areas of California. I mean, look at Michael Lawler's district and the margin he won by.

The voters sent a very clear message that Jewish Lives Matter.

Despite Michigan having nearly as many Muslims as Jews statewide (and far more in Wayne County)... Elissa Slotkin, the Israel-first Jew, won on a very unlikely split-ticket outcome by 0.3% in the Trump State of Michigan.

At the end of the day, the Israel-Gaza conflict cost Harris both Michigan and Pennsylvania, and they narrowly held Minnesota and New Jersey...!!. They have to win back that voter base and affirm that, watermelon protesters be damned, that the Democrats are the party that, unwaveringly stands behind Israel 100%.

Is that not right, Will Hunting.

It'll be one or the other, not both. That decision will be made before the primaries. I think it will be Jew Obama.

4 years is a ways away

Shapiro is an obvious possibility at this point. Someone very popular in Pennsylvania, good speaker (Obama clone). Doesn't have the stench of being crazy far left (even if that stench is usually incorrectly attributed to people like Biden). Right now he's been governor for like 2 years and was a state AG before that. Very little national profile, but perhaps that's not a bad thing. He's someone who sounds great in stump speeches. I don't know how it translates to the interview/TV spots.

Buttigieg... is kind of the opposite. In that we've seen him be effective and tactful in TV/interview spots where he spars with Fox folks and comes across quite well. I don't know if it translates to riling up crowds or getting people motivated to get out and vote. Those are two different skills. But for someone who was secretary of transportation, he was getting quite a bit of face time.

I imagine Newsom will try to increase his national profile. I'm not sure there's appe e for him. What I will say is he tends to be more likeable the more he's seen. When you just hear about him, you just think uhh limousine liberal, coastal democrat, elitist, greasy politician, etc. But I think he actually does pretty damn well in TV/interview spots. The more people actually hear him speak than just hearing about him, the better he comes across imo.

Those are the top 3 obvious ones that come to mind. Could also be one of the newer faces like Gallego if he wins the seat and has some shining moments. Another darkhorse, no pun intended, could be Warnock. He's already won 2 elections in Georgia and that's no small thing. Also definitely doesnt come across as snobbish/elitist or anything like that if that's the image concern people have.

There is no way Shapiro was being VP to a candidate he would have skull ed in a primary.

No way they trot out another woman unless they're really, really stupid. The gender thing doesn't work, we've already seen the results twice. We actually know even more now that the gender thing doesn't make up any ground with Gen Z at all, so the idea that demographics alone could propel change is as good as dead.

It should be a man, at minimum, for the foreseeable future or Democrats are just mailing the executive branch in tbh. Not saying I support or think this is a great place for the country to be in, but it is where we are without a doubt.

They're really really stupid. They trotted out a loser who couldn't win a single delegate in the primaries to be the presidential nominee.

I actually think that Kelly would be the stronger candidate as opposed to Gallego if he holds on in AZ. As far as appe e for Newsom, I agree there might not be so much appe e... coastal elitist, another Cali democrat and all... but do you really think there's be national appe e for a gay guy? There's plenty of phobic Democrats and minorities who would just sit out, vote third party etc.

His sexual orientation will be a big deal nationally. I just can't see him doing well among male voters due to being gay. Democrats need to stay away from having a LGBTQ candidate at the top of the ticket and a woman. That is a surefire way to lose again.

Sometimes I wonder if they are really that stupid or are they just trying to self-sabotage themselves.

This one was genuine stupidity. There was no Bernie Sanders who was going to do a hostile takeover of the party. Shapiro or Whitmer wouldn't have fundamentally changed anything about the DNC but would have both had a great shot of being able to distance themselves from the stink of Biden and DC Democrats and actually win.

Male voters, most Christian women (except the ultra woke Roman Catholic leftist types), Hispanics etc.

A lesbian atheist senator like Tammy Baldwin can barely hold on in Wisconsin because the demographics are unusually favorable there... 92% white, huge high turnout white woke college base in Madison, almost no Hispanics, not a super religious state, female majority.

There's a good reason that Wisconsin, not Michigan, was the bluest of the purple wall states this time. Minorities (particularly minority males and religious minorities), not whites, shifted to the right en masse in 2024.

Then someone who was still tied to the Biden admin. But ok I get that . But then you have her talking abortion, abortion, abortion, that was their whole rhetoric. Not bringing up hardly none how bad Trump botched Covid, nothing about the economy really . Hardly bringing up the paid Medicare for senior care whicj was actually huge, no Just abortion 90% of her argument and obviously they were alright with that. Sometimes it feels like the Dems are playing chess against themselves and lose every single time. For all of that they should had just left Biden at the top of the ticket. Not sure how he could had done any worse than Harris did .

No more women, at least not yet. Country isn't ready for it. Same for Pete. He is probably the best candidate but he's gay so sadly it's a non starter imo. I'd be looking at Shapiro or Beshear

Yet if you were running against DeSantis then the abortion argument would have carried more weight, he confirmed he would nationalize the 6 week abortion ban

Agreed. I think America would be ready for a Jewish president but not a gay or woman one.

I think there's a good chance it's Newsome. The guy is a slick speaker and a solid debater, tbh. He gives Independent vibes even though he's far left.

The Cackling hyena/empty pant suit is by far the worst candidate of all time. The DEI era has made Mondale look like a solid choice...
