It probably has something to do with the fact that for the past 3 years a mentally retarded man (one or the other) was coaching Argentina, the Argentinian defense literally doesn't exist, and Messi has to do all of the offensive work for Argentina because said retarded coaches don't use all of the best playmakers available.

Three fotball players - Lionel Messi, Xavi and Cristiano Ronaldo - are invited to heaven watch the World Cup final with God. God decides who will sit next to him by asking them the same question. God asks Messi first: "What do you believe?" Messi says, "I believe in hard work and staying true to family, teammates and friends." God is impressed by Messi and offers him a seat to his left. God then turns to Xavi and asks, "What do you believe?" Xavi says, "I believe loyalty, discipline, courage and honor are the fundamentals of life." He's using the club for his own purposes (he wants to manage ManU everybody knows that) and as some players said, he is killing the Spain NT ........ lol see the contrast between what this idiot does compared to the Real Madrid official song.

Barça certainly had it's share of shitty people throughout the years (ie: douches/egomaniacs like Van Gaal or Stoichkov). And they used to be chastised all the same for it, much like Madrid is now.

Pep is a gentleman though.

And while Real and Barça were never best friends, they rarely got into the fights you see today. This is far from the first incident like this since Mou arrived.

tbh, it's incredibly sad to see a storied team like Madrid fall this low. It's a disservice to classy guys like Raul or Di Stefano that always dignified the club. And what for? One Copa del Rey?

WTF? When did Van Gaal do anything even half as douchey as Mourinho pulls off? And when did Van Gaal sacrifice his attacking football just for the sake of result? You leave Van Gaal out of this, he was never about result at any cost.

Van Gaal was another know-it-all egomaniac who put himself over the players and the team. He was constantly a douche with the media and even his players (ie: his feuds with Rivaldo, who was making him look good out there).

Sure, he's not even half the douche Mou is, but he ain't no saint either. And Mou has shown these two games that his team can play a fast-paced, all-out offensive game too, and do it well. He also has shown he's still an unapologetic douchebag.

Rivaldo was claiming he was played "out of position" ie. not in center offense, however considering how Rivaldo's career went after Van Gaal left Barca, we can argue who made who look good.

Yes, but Van Gaal never sacrificed Barca's play just to get the result and he never resorted to dirty tactics.

I'm interest in knowing what dirty tactics exactly are you talking about.

I would also like to know what other Real team has played better football than the current one after the Galacticos ended. What exactly is Mourinho sacrificing?

Not getting past the first round of knockout stages of the Champions league for the past 8 straight years untill Mourinho arrived there, but I bet those were all classy coaches.

Yeah I'm not sure what sacrificing means too. Perhaps Mourinho's Inter playing strictly D in leg 2 the semis versus Barca? If so, I have no problem to that, why play into Barca's strength when you have the lead? I never got why people were mad - don't lose the first leg 3-1 then complain.

btw, I thought Mascherano played great both games. Makes you wonder if he shouldn't play in the back for ARG.

I've been saying this for months now...it makes complete sense to, ARG obviously has better all around players in the defensive mid position compared to defenders and since Mascherano has been stepping in well in the back for Barca it makes no sense not to put him in the back for ARG. He's easily better than all of our defenders.

¡The fight is on in Spain!
Barcelona and Real Madrid fight to be the rulers of Spain.
| 30-08-2011
in a Liga where Barcelona and Real Madrid bore beating everyone, the rest have had it. "If they want there to be only 2 games, do it", shot the president of Villarreal. "Its the biggest piece of crap on earth", added the Sevilla president.
The Liga of the stars was before. Now its the Liga of Barcelona and Real Madrid, or at least that is what the other 18 teams in 1st division think.
"This changes or we kill our league", said Fernando Roig, president of Villarreal, whose team (4th last season, 34 points below Messi and co) lost 5-0 to Barca. But he exploded because its been several seasons where the league is a contest between these two teams. "If they want there to be only two matches, well make it two matches, but this is not good for football. I give myself a 2 - 3 year limit", said Roig, who added that while he sells players "to balance budgets, others get loans".

On his side, José María del Nido, president of Sevilla, hopped on the train and started shooting. "La Liga is not the biggest piece of shit in Europe, but the world. Its like the 3rd world and only 2 clubs get the tv money of the rest", he said in reference to the inequality produced by the fact that barca and RM get half of the 600 million euro tv deal. "By god. ¿is there any fan who doesnt think the league is prostituted, poisoned, corrupted?", finished Del Nido...

Part of the reason this has gotten worse is the economic recession in spain. alot of teams have lost sponsors, attendance is down, and there is no competing with the budget of RMA and barcelona. for every player that comes from the youth systems, there are 2 that are bought for exorbitant transfer fees. The oil barons appear to be helping in that they are making irrelevant teams relevant, but in reality they are just exacerbating the divide between the rich and the poor.

that said, some EPL nut is going to take this and run with it, but seriously F the EPL, I'd rather watch a track and field competition than watch man utd vs wigan or chelsea vs westham. as far as im concerned the EPL is just behind la liga in terms of inequality, and with less quality play to boot. if you ask me the italian league is best, always has been, its just that the match fixing scandal temporarily set their best teams back and the fools that go by champions league won as the measure of the best league started proclaiming liga / EPL as best... iMO, of course :lol

Don't need this to proclaim EPL as the best football league in the world. It's been like that for a long time now.

Spanish league is the equivalent of an NBA season where Celtics/Lakers would win 80 games in the regular season and meet in the finals every year.

These days the EPL is the same thing. The difference is a 5 team race at most instead of 2. BTW, Spain didn't used to be like this. It was not 10 years ago that Valencia or Villareal were pretty good sides with a shot at the league or the Euro cups. A club like Atletico Madrid was no pushover either. It just has gotten over the top now.

Exactly...the past is irrelevant, we're talking about now, AKA last 3 years and likely next many to come. It's a pretty damn pointless league, and it's really easy to admit man. I mean come on...all of the teams except 2 have literally 0.0% chance at the title. The only way a team like Barca or Madrid loses to the others in La Liga are some combination of multiple key injuries, fatigue from a mid-week (thursday) champion's league game, and playing a horrible game (which Barca rarely does). Seriously, all it takes for Barca or Madrid to claim their 3 points is simply showing up. I wonder how the F the other La Liga teams convince top players to join when they'd essentially be signing up to lose season after season.

I just feel the same way about the EPL, tbh. I don't think 5 vs 2 is THAT significant. Heck, the only chance I give Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal (included in the 5) of actually taking over ManU for the title is if ManU ends up with some injuries/tiredness from playing the CL. Early on, Citeh looks like the only other contender out there, and they just as easily could implode.

It's retarded. Who is getting up to watch Wigan vs <anybody>? Swansea vs <anybody>? Newcastle vs <anybody>? They have no shot, so why bother?
I even tune into ManU or Citeh games to just see how they're going to steamroll their next opponent. It's no different than watching Barça or RMAO.

tbh, I don't know that soccer needs a salary cap. But they definitely need better income distribution. It's stupid that on top of having the most resources, both Barça and Madrid receive more money from TV than any other team. Either split it evenly across all teams, or actually split it based on gate receipts from last season, starting with more money for those clubs that had less receipts.

No way, it's way worse in La Liga. LOL, Barca is way better than the top club in England, RMAO isn't far behind, and then there is a large drop off...and not so much because the 2nd tier teams in La Liga are poor, but more about how overwhelmingly talented the giants are, amazing players off the bench that are better than the majority of the starters of other squads. They are guaranteed to win, basically. Not quite as much in the EPL. Although the Manchester clubs are favorites this season, they aren't way better than the other teams right behind like Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal (lol), Tottenham.

Add to that most of the Spanish national team players, if not all, play for either Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Barca and Real are #1 and #2 in world, no doubt. These two teams would eat Manchester United alive.

Debatable about RMAO. Man U is even stronger than last year, and they're a much more cohesive team. It would definitely be a close match between them in let's say a two-leg match.

Hell, imagine if they nab Sneijder today :(

Well that's exactly my point, the fact that Barca and RMA are so strong compared to the next tier of teams in their respective league, relative to the EPL equivalents of ManU and ManC. The drop off is way steeper in La Liga compared to the EPL.

And I agree with what resistanze said about RMA-ManU being debatable, because it certainly is, and I wouldn't say that either team is much better at all than the other. I'd probably put my money on ManU to win such a match up. But the point remains...the difference between, say..Barca and Valencia or Villarreal is way larger than that of ManU and Chelsea. That's not debatable...teams like Chelsea and Arsenal can beat the top EPL sides more frequently than the 2nd tier teams can beat Barcelona, because basically Barca will win every single game this La Liga season.

Yea i would rate RM slightly above Man Utd but its not a huge gap IMO.. still think Man U is lacking that bit of creativity in the middle that a Modric or Sneijder would give.. that could possibly bring them close to Barca and on par with RM.

1. Bartha

2. RM
3. Man Utd

4. AC Milan
5. Man City

Honestly think Man City are ready to make a huge jump this year both in EPL and in the CL. They look alot better than Chelsea early on.
