I would love elson man. He was a high energy guy. He played Dirk well.

I never understood why pop pulled the plug on Elson.

If he still can play like he did then, I'd take him (if the other alternative was to do nothing in the big department).

Same reason Pop pulled the plug on Mahinmi. He can't get enough of Bonner/Blair then he complains they're the only bigs that they have. If they had been serious about bigs they would have been looking for one instead of looking for SF's. The ironic thing is if you get better bigs RJ's and the other perimeter players defense would look a whole lot better.

I don't think he was getting the rotations down. I recall someone saying he wasn't a very high IQ player and just didn't have a clue at times on where to be defensively.

Spurs front office losing cred. The scola debacle, Jacki butler sucking, signing Jefferson, resigning Jefferson, letting mahinmi walk, not signing another big

Seriously this team could get Dwight Howard and Pop probably still wouldn't play him because it wouldn't be fair to the other guys and he doesn't spread the floor.

:rolleyes

I didn't think it was possible to have worse takes than TJastal, but you're getting there.

Hickson has the kind of contract the Spurs can work around and might seem like a possible choice depending on what Sacramento wants in return. He isn't really the type of big most covet here (defensive, shot blocking) but he is definitely better than Blair and Bonner down low and has an easy contract to swallow. Would probably require a first round pick involved in any deal.

What would the trade be though? A straight up JA for Hickson won't work according to the espn trade machine.

I guess Danny Ferry would know Hickson pretty well wouldn't he. He would probably have a good idea whether or not Hickson would be a fit on the Spurs like he did with Danny Green.

Anderson + filler is the most i would consider for Hickson, who has been a big disappointment in Sacramento.

•David Thorpe of ESPN.com (Insider link) lists the five best "chemistry" guys potentially available at the deadline. His picks: Pau Gasol, Paul Millsap, Gerald Wallace, Chris Andersen, and Rajon Rondo.

The Nets are saying they're looking to be sellers at the deadline if they can't get Dwight Howard.

What do you think of Shelden Williams for James Anderson (plus enough cash to pay his salary). It makes sense for both sides (assuming the Nets don't see a long-term future for Shelden) and would be a very simple trade. The Nets get a look at a prospect, and if they don't like him they just let his deal expire, and save a bit of cash down the stretch.

That would be great but it says they want a PG or a SF, we dont have anyone they'd want tbh.

This is just about the most realistic and ideal scenario there is
