Yemen is a proxy war and if by sticks and stones you mean Iranian supplied arms then I agree. The WH has pushing all the Arab states to actually do something as opposed to riding the NATO and Russia's coattails. I doubt they actually do shit.

PErsonally I think we should depose the Sauds and shut down all the madrassas and similar schools. Actually give them some imperial occupation to bitch about.

Are the Iranians arming them with weapons and supplies or not? Your dodge is cute if typical.

Last time I checked, the Arabs haven't invaded Yemen. They are just bombing the shit out of it and blockading their ports. I'm not sure how youre supposed to 'control' land without actually sending people in.

‘Russians made peace possible’: Ex-NATO military committee chief praises Syria op

http://www.spiegel.de/politik/deutschland/syrien-ex-generalinspekteur-harald-kujat-lobt-rolle-russlands-a-1077001.html

Former Inspector General of the Bundeswehr, Harald Kujat has Russia's role in Syria conflict praised. "The Russians have with their military intervention the peace process made possible", he said the "Passauer Neue Presse".

Until September 2015 a standstill there had prevailed. "Neither the Americans nor the Europeans had a strategy for peaceful Syria and were not even willing to work very hard. The Russians have made it and therefore pushed for a political solution to a window," said Kujat .

Before the Russian intervention the Syrian army had stood before its end, the ex-Inspector General. "I had only given her a few weeks. Then Syria would collapse and the IS would have taken over the country." The next goal would be to Kujats words of Lebanon have been - and the next but Israel . "This would have far-reaching consequences for us."

Kujat disagreed in an interview and the presumption of Russian President Vladimir Putin did the bombing in Aleppo aimed to aggravate the situation. Russia go to Syria for a strategic plan: "Putin's goal is the advance of Syrian troops towards IS to support -region. Aleppo has hitherto been like a lock bolt in this way, because the city was held by the Syrian opposition. "

Yeah this just keeps getting uglier and uglier. But the good news is both the Saudis and Iranians will deplete themselves long-term, keep pumping oil to sustain their goal which will keep gas prices down.

And don't be fooled by the strength of the Saudi military. Yeah they have bought a shit ton of stuff, but they have very little manpower. Not even a top 5 Muslim military in the world. They;re gonna try to buy fighters and mercs to do their dirty work.

My bad I stated that incorrectly.
Its not that they don't, they need cash just like Iran so they will pump as they still make a decent profit per barrel and need cash now. As a side note they showed the US fracking can't keep up with their easy oil.

The first ship carrying natural gas from the Gulf Coast is expected to depart soon, marking the emergence of the U.S. as a major exporter and the globalization of the once highly regionalized gas trade.

U.S. stationing tanks and artillery in classified Norwegian caves

Marines are prepositioning battle tanks, artillery and logistics equipment inside Norwegian caves as the U.S. pushes to station equipment near the NATO-Russia frontier."

Any gear that is forward-deployed both reduces cost and speeds up our ability to support operations in crisis, so we're able to fall in on gear that is ready-to-go and respond to whatever that crisis may be," Col. William Bentley, operations officer for the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, said in a statement Friday on the Norwegian deployment that called the caves classified.

The deployment of new equipment to the Cold War-era caves comes amid renewed tensions between NATO and Russia. Russia shares a 121.6-mile long border with Norway. The border was heavily militarized during the Cold War, and the Russian navy's Northern Fleet is in Murmansk, about 100 miles from the border.

In October, Norway's Chief of Defense, Adm. Haakon Bruun-Hanssen, told reporters that Russia has "shown that they are willing to use military force to achieve political ambitions."

Russia gives a gift of 10,000 automatic rifles to Afghanistan

Afghan officials took delivery of 10,000 automatic rifles and millions of rounds of ammunition as a gift from Russia on Wednesday, another sign of deepening involvement by Moscow in the war-torn country.

Dependent almost entirely on foreign aid, Afghan security forces are struggling to secure the country amid a rising insurgency.

As the NATO-led coalition's military presence dwindled last year, Afghan leaders reached out to Moscow, which fought a war of its own in Afghanistan during the 1980s, for more Russian-made weapons, including small arms, artillery and attack helicopters.

"This donation represents a deep friendship between two nations," Afghan national security adviser Hanif Atmar said at an event marking delivery of the arms shipment. "This important donation is from an important friend of Afghanistan in a crucial time for Afghanistan and the region."

Saudi about to launch a ground and air attack on Syria :lol

http://www.globalresearch.ca/saudi-arabia-deploys-combat-aircraft-to-turkey/5510260

Saudi Arabia Deploys Combat Aircraft to Turkey

It’s clear that the recently adopted ceasefire threatens the Turkish and Saudi interests in Syria significantly. Both countries support a wide range of Islamic militant groups including Al Nusra Front, which was designated as a terrorist organization by the UNSC. Turkey has clearly been violating Syria’s sovereignty with its systematic artillery shelling of the northern part of the country and by allowing the flow of reinforcements to militants while Saudi Arabia spent significant amounts of petro-dollars in order to support groups attempting to overthrow the Syrian government. In this case, the Turkish statements claiming the possibility of a military invasion of Syria and Saudi Arabia’s intention to deploy an air force to support the Turkish operations can’t be ignored.

Saudi Arabia is sending fighter jets and soldiers to a military base in Turkey ahead of a ground assault on Syria, reports suggest.
The possible invasion is said to be both a move against both ISIS and Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.
Turkey’s foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu confirmed the deployment of Saudi Arabia’s military in a statement to the Yeni Safak newspaper today, saying: ‘Saudi Arabia declared its determination against Daesh by saying that they were ready to send both jets and troops.

plus unlikely because Russia would just bully Turkey to close up airspace to Americans and they would pretty much be up shits creek

Assad has 100,000 troops at his disposal. If USA stays out of the way you can be 100% sure ISIS can be defeated.(in Syria) The Russian air force along with 100,000 troops on the ground. Are you shitting me? It's very doable.

All depends if US stays out of the way of course.

Damn US scrambling their terrorists and trying to relocate them to fight for Dier Ezzor :wow

In a race with the Russia-backed Syrian government forces and Shiite militia groups to capture the eastern city of Deir ez-Zor from Islamic State militants, a Syrian rebel group supported by the U.S. claims it is in talks with the U.S.-led coalition to relocate its fighters to northern Syria.

What makes the fight against IS in Deir ez-Zor particularly complicated is the fierce competition between the U.S.-backed rebel groups and the Syrian regime, supported by Russian and Iranian-allied Shiite militias.

Observers charge that the control of Deir ez-Zor will allow Iran and its Shiite allies an easy access to Syria via Iraq, in addition to the province's natural resources revenues.

Assad gave notice to those foreign powers who have pushed a regime change agenda – an agenda that has spectacularly failed – that he expects them to abandon their residual links with rebel groups. He said: “There will be neither security cooperation, nor the opening of embassies, nor a role for certain states that say they want to find a way out [of Syria’s war], unless they explicitly cut their ties with terrorism.”

Evidently, Assad intends to regain control of the entire country and is confident that such an achievement is not far off. The Astana talks and any UN-sponsored peace process have become sideshows; the accent now is on crushing rebel groups through a mix of coercive diplomacy and sheer military power. Syrian government forces will press ahead with their military offensive to liberate the city of Deir Ez-Zor; they’ll then cross the Euphrates and take control of the southern regions bordering Iraq, vanquishing Islamic State (ISIS).

To be sure, the US has to take some major decisions in the weeks ahead. It has set up 12 military bases in the Kurdish regions of northern Syria, indicative of plans for a prolonged stay in Syria. The Kurds, allied to the US, expect a permanent American presence. The US objective still appears to be to beat the government’s forces to Dier Ez-Zor and seize control of the oil fields in the north-eastern province of Hasaka (which are important for ensuring the economic viability of a Kurdistan in northern Syria.) This plan looks increasingly like a pipe dream, however.

Looks like US picked the wrong horse to ride in Syria. Picking kurds has unified Turkey-Syria-Russia-Iran

Time to take the L and move along to the next country to fuck up
