You guys remember the good old days when 1998 was considered such a hot summer after breaking a 50 year record? So hot that DarrinS used to constantly post psuedoscience crap about how the Earth was actually cooling, always using 1998 as the first year of the trendline? Good times those were.

Just pray that Texas'/Abbott's power grid does not have a major outage in summer, else, lots of older Texans will go down for the count.

Hard to believe we're probably not even halfway through the worst of summer. I'd be amazed if we finished with less than 80 days over 100 this year since the rest of July is forecast to be 100+ and then the first three weeks of August are usually the nastiest part of the year. Expecting August to likely be wall to wall 100s with a small break of a couple of days here and there like July has been. Can't imagine early September won't be horrible too save the possibility of a hurricane strike. Just hoping it starts really backing off by mid September at least.

Mid September normal high is like 90. But as early as May we were hitting 100s more than ten degrees above normal (which is high 80s in May) and with how heavy the drought it this year it's likely to be a summer that just keeps dragging on, so no surprise if we still have days 10-15 degrees above normal in mid to late September. 97 is the normal for the heart of August.

'Should Be No Risk': World Economic Forum Pushes 'Space Bubbles' To Block Out The Sun, Stop Climate Change

The World Economic Forum recently suggested that "space bubbles" can be used to block out the sun and thereby reduce climate change.

Highlighting a study from Massachusetts Institute of Technology researchers, the entity explained last month that the "geoengineering" project seeks to reflect a portion of solar radiation back into space. The group said that a device, which covers an area the size of Brazil, would likely pose "no risk" of disrupting the planet's ecosystems because of its deployment in space rather than in the atmosphere.

"Geoengineering might be our final and only option," Carlo Ratti, an MIT researcher and architect, said of the project. "Yet, most geoengineering proposals are earth-bound, which poses tremendous risks to our living ecosystem. Space-based solutions would be safer for instance, if we deflect 1.8 percent of incident solar radiation before it hits our planet, we could fully reverse today's global warming."

The bubbles, made of a thin plastic material, would be manufactured in space and positioned at the L1 Lagrangian Point, where the gravitational pulls between the Earth and the sun cancel out.

According to an MIT press release, "This proposal addresses many questions: How to engineer the best material for the bubbles to withstand outer space conditions? How to fabricate and deploy these bubbles in space? How to make the shield fully reversible? What are the potential long-term effects on Earth's ecosystem?"

I mean, yeah why try to fix the things wrong on the planet when you can just throw more stuff in space

The weather is only good from Nov to March in San Antonio and there are days in those months over 80. I like it below 80.

So today, your president, Joe Biden boarded Air Force One and for a short, well, high carbon footprint flight to Massachusetts and then went for a ride in a giant fleet of SUV's, gas-guzzling SUVs, specifically shipped from Washington, D.C., and then traveled to a dust-covered lot filled with diesel-powered excavators where an Italian company plans to manufacture underwater cables for wind turbines at some point in the future

Greenhouse gases - China (29%), India 7%, USA 14%, Russia 5%. Studies say you have to reduce by 43% to stop global warming. Even if the USA got to net zero, which will never happen, you still are 29% off. Reduction of oil usage in the USA will increase use of oil in 3rd world countries as it becomes a cheap alternative. Then we will have to aks what are we going to do with all the toxic waste created by disposed of solar panels?

So let it be on the record that Cuck Blake is totally against clean atomic energy that doesn't emit CO2 and doesn't contribute to global warming. Does Cuck Blake know that clean atomic energy has been powering San Antonio since long before sancho was banging his wife?

Clearly building one near the beach was a bad idea for the Japan.

Blake sadly is from that shallowness end of the gene pool and still believes unicorns and rainbow dust can solve global warming. And yes, I believe we will be warming another 1.1 decrees centigrade in the next 100 years because of Co2. Or yall will.

I'll try to dumb down the point to derp level for you if I can. When CC says ".... that everyone can agree is safe", who is everyone that can say it's safe?

Fukushima was an outlier being taken out by a tidal wave, but plants can be built in safe zones above tidal wave and hurricane reach, outside of earthquake zones etc and be totally safe. Are you really against clean nuclear power are you just arguing to be a bitch?

I didn't say your questions were complicated. I said they were stupid. For example, do you want CC to name every person who says it's safe? Of course not, so what's your goal by asking? Simple - to show that "everyone" is a generalization and you're too specific for that. You aren't looking for answers, you just looking to muddy the waters of discussion by naysaying anything from the right.

I asked him to define "everyone" which is subjective. So is "safe". Your reading comprehension skills and ability to keep up really blow.
