We know he committed an impeachable offense (can't be a crime since he can't be charged with a crime in office) and it's not curtains, the Republicans in the senate will acquit. You'll hear a few pretend they won't and make a stink for a couple of days but in the end they'll fall in line behind our Dear Leader like they always do, with at most Gardner and Collins voting for removal to help their re-election campaigns (and Manchin and Jones voting acquit for the same reason).

If they allow Bolton to testify to the US Senate, on TV, that Trump was doing a crime, the downstream wreckage for Rs could be unpredictable -- especially if the Senate then votes to acquit.
But, there won't be another (shoe) drop...a "break-in at the Watergate Hotel." If that happens then it will be a the end.
I just do not understand why he would bother with this & Ukraine. He stood a better than even chance of beating Biden at default. Christ, just compete & accept the result come November.

If they don't let him they're part of the cover-up. Bolton's not likely to tell us anything we don't know already from Sondland. They'll still vote to acquit because the Democrats' process was unfair or because Trump is new at this and isn't a career politician and has to be handled with kid gloves like a toddler or because Bolton just has an axe to grind and wants to sell books to pissed off Democrats, etc. One way the downstream wreckage would be entirely predictable would be if they actually removed our Dear Leader from office. It would hand the Democrats a clean sweep on the presidency, senate, and house, because Republican voters love our Dear Leader like no other and would just stay home in protest in November. So it'll be toothless condemnation but line up behind Trump for the actual vote.
No Trump seemed to find it a big deal when Sessions perjured himself while still in Trump's good graces, so I don't want to hear any whining about Clinton lying about a blowjob.

I can’t even imagine what would need to come out in witness testimony in order to get a 2/3rds majority to remove Trump from office. That’s well beyond just Republicans in purple and lean-red states, it’d require votes from Republicans in solid red states who’d be nervous as about getting primaried if they voted to impeach. Trump’s approval rating would need to be in like the low 20s for impeachment to happen.
There would have to be audio of Trump explicitly ordering a hit on Yovanovich, and a failed assassination attempt where she got away. And audio of Parnas calling Trump and telling him "We ed up. She got away." And Ted Cruz would still say no crime was committed because here she was in the house giving testimony. That MIGHT get you to 67. And Trump's approval rating would still be in the 40s.
I don't think that would even get the vote to 55.
