He hasn't had to yet. That day is coming. Ain't gonna hurt to try. Like you said: if he committed a crime/crime...then we'll know soon enough & it'll be curtains.

The other shoe has not fallen yet. I don't BELIEVE it will---I really don't.
We know he committed an impeachable offense (can't be a crime since he can't be charged with a crime in office) and it's not curtains, the Republicans in the senate will acquit. You'll hear a few pretend they won't and make a stink for a couple of days but in the end they'll fall in line behind our Dear Leader like they always do, with at most Gardner and Collins voting for removal to help their re-election campaigns (and Manchin and Jones voting acquit for the same reason).

If the number is already 10 to 12 Republican Senators for witnesses, that's not a good sign for Trump.
It's 10 to 12 who will still vote to acquit but make toothless remarks to the media about how they don't like the actions of this crook despite them continuously enabling him. Basically 10 or 12 Ben Sasse's in the GOP senate.

If they allow Bolton to testify to the US Senate, on TV, that Trump was doing a crime, the downstream wreckage for Rs could be unpredictable -- especially if the Senate then votes to acquit.

But, there won't be another (shoe) drop...a "break-in at the Watergate Hotel." If that happens then it will be a the end.

I just do not understand why he would bother with this & Ukraine. He stood a better than even chance of beating Biden at default. Christ, just compete & accept the result come November.

& frankly I can see HIM doing this...almost out of childish boredom, laziness.

I still hope he (gets off) though. & it may not be true after all.

Clinton got off, bum. & he lied under oath. I grudged it, but, I understood. But, Clinton apologized once the dress turned up. The old man will never apologize. "If I apologize can I stay like Clinton did?"

    "No."

    "Then I ain't apologizin'."

If they don't let him they're part of the cover-up. Bolton's not likely to tell us anything we don't know already from Sondland. They'll still vote to acquit because the Democrats' process was unfair or because Trump is new at this and isn't a career politician and has to be handled with kid gloves like a toddler or because Bolton just has an axe to grind and wants to sell books to pissed off Democrats, etc. One way the downstream wreckage would be entirely predictable would be if they actually removed our Dear Leader from office. It would hand the Democrats a clean sweep on the presidency, senate, and house, because Republican voters love our Dear Leader like no other and would just stay home in protest in November. So it'll be toothless condemnation but line up behind Trump for the actual vote.

No Trump seemed to find it a big deal when Sessions perjured himself while still in Trump's good graces, so I don't want to hear any whining about Clinton lying about a blowjob.

Pretty much this. You’ll have a lot of Romney types out there who puff their chest and might even vote to allow witnesses, but in the end they’ll fall in line.

But, it's he said/he said, Winester. Unless Bolton has a tape which I fear like the plague.

Or, they put Mulvaney under oath & ask him did he tell the old man not to do what he did anyway.

I still can't get past the Nixon link with McGovern. Drives me crazy.

The blowjob was between Him & Hillary. The cover-up is the crime. He lied under oath even though he knew that he'd be acquitted had he told the truth to begin with.

I don't recall Sessions perjuring himself, bum. Explain please.

I can’t even imagine what would need to come out in witness testimony in order to get a 2/3rds majority to remove Trump from office. That’s well beyond just Republicans in purple and lean-red states, it’d require votes from Republicans in solid red states who’d be nervous as about getting primaried if they voted to impeach. Trump’s approval rating would need to be in like the low 20s for impeachment to happen.

There would have to be audio of Trump explicitly ordering a hit on Yovanovich, and a failed assassination attempt where she got away. And audio of Parnas calling Trump and telling him "We ed up. She got away." And Ted Cruz would still say no crime was committed because here she was in the house giving testimony. That MIGHT get you to 67. And Trump's approval rating would still be in the 40s.

It's more sinister than that. It doesn't matter to Republicans if Trump lies.

How Republicans are acting now only makes sense if they think there will never be another free, fair election in the USA.
With gerrymandering, russian interference & a certified Cult in place

there may never be another free/fair election

only way to stop them is for the 65% sleeping Americans to wake the up and realize and understand
we have been attacked from within and get rid of the manchurian traitor cult leader criminal

i fear they will snooze and hit the snooze button until 2028 and by then there wont even be laws to stop the govt

I was going to say, that scenario literally as BB described it gets 60 votes at the most.

What if jurors were in the loop?

Every single day it is (something) new. It's by political design escorted by MSM.

***& I don't think Mitch has the votes---he's portending to having them, but, I highly doubt it.

We're going to have to have witnesses, or, a court fight, or, perhaps even both in the end.

Cohen hurts, & he should have known better than to bring Kelly in close, he is an Obama guy.

Bolton urged House Dems to investigate Ukraine ambassador’s firing two days before impeachment launched

Rep. Eliot Engel (D-NY) blew up President Donald

Trump’s claims that John Bolton kept his concerns about Ukraine to himself.

The New York Democrat, who chairs the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, revealed Wednesday that Bolton urged him “unprompted” in September to look into the ousting of former Ukraine ambassador Marie Yovanovitch.

Bolton and Engel spoke by phone Sept. 23 — two days before House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced a formal impeachment inquiry — and Bolton strongly implied something improper had taken place around Yovanovitch’s removal from her diplomatic post in Kyiv.

Lev Parnas’ lawyer ties Lindsey Graham to corrupt Ukraine scheme

Rudy Giuliani delivered a letter in late 2018 to Sen. Lindsey Graham calling for sanctions on Ukrainian government officials,

the do ent described the Ukrainian politicians and business leaders as an “organized crime syndicate”

Giuliani also showed Parnas a similar letter sent to Sigal Mandelker, then a top official at the U.S. Treasury Department, which enforces foreign sanctions.

letter arrived a month before Giuliani tried to help former Ukrainian top prosecutor Viktor Shokin travel to the U.S. for a meeting with Graham,

    Several weeks earlier, President Donald

Trump’s attorney sent a letter of his own to Graham asking his staff to help three unnamed Ukrainians obtain visas to visit the U.S. and share information about the Bidens.
