Waiting for the game to start, I saw this very move on TV, on Orangutang Island!![]()

Not for me.When Duncan shaves he means business. He can grow the fro after he wins his fifth, like he did after his third.

^^^^^^^
That is killer right there.![]()
Timmy in interviews always talks about how aware he is that the clock is starting to run out. He knows he does not have too many more prime years left and it is now or never for this repeat. I think that is driving him harder than ever to play his best ball in this post-season.

Nice. It's never going to get old.
We could do this all day. You post them, I'll watch them and embed them. Give me an excuse to watch him...
I am hoping for a long post-season of highlights to add to the thread.
I was at the game and made sure to watch as Duncan walked around to each Suns player. Nash embraced him as usual and there were hugs from other Suns players, but what you see in the picture is all that took place. Shaq said nothing and the fist tap was brief.
Oh, and by the way, DUNCAN IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can never say enough times how grateful I am to have Tim Duncan on this team. To have a superstar that is so talented and unselfish is a blessing. I even remember his senior year at wake I was hoping for him to be a Spur all year long. Glad that wish came true.![]()
Duncan is amazing, that's all I can say. I cannot believe I ever doubted him before the series started. I thought he would take a backseat to the Suns frontcourt, particularly by the way he performed against Shaq in the regular season. Stupid me. He took a on the Suns. The Suns are Duncan's es. Duncan has Amare and Shaq on a leash.
I never doubted him but even I was starting to wonder if he was injured because of how he was playing the last few weeks of the season. He really paced himself more this season than he has in the past. It was almost scary, I can understand how doubt could creep in.
He rose as we all knew he could. And he's just getting warmed up.![]()
Duncan and Shaq never seemed to like each other. As far back as the 2000 All Star game when they shared the MVP you could tell they weren't fond of each other. If you get a chance to see that Trophy presentation you'll see that they don't make eye contact then. They look uncomfortable together. And of course Shaq said he'd take the Trophy because Duncan already had a ring.
I think their personalities are so far apart that there's no common ground. And the battle of who is the more dominate big man has been going on forever. I think Shaq was ticked that Duncan got a ring first, and I'm sure he's even more ticked now that Duncan has the better chance of getting the fifth before he does. Shaq did say when the trade was made that he wanted to get his fifth before Duncan got his.
No matter how many times people doubt him or call him old or call him soft, Duncan always delivers. And unfortunately, he will not be appreciated until he no longer laces them up every night.
Duncan =![]()
I told you remember that he was going to be fine. I knew if Timmy is healthy this whole idea that Shaq at age 36 was going to keep Duncan in check in a 7 game series when he couldn't do it in his prime was flat out not going to happen. That Timmy would rise up and deliver. After the first half of game 1 we all knew playoff Tim Duncan was here to kick the out of the Suns yet again. I will never lose faith in Tim Duncan, NEVER!!!!
Agreed and Tim is a very friendly guy you can see in pre-game and at tip off most of the players around the league like him very much. Shaq is friendly but he is also ten times more arrogant than Tim can ever be. He knew i feel that Tim was a huge rival to him right from the start so he almost made the point to be cold. He has a lot of respect for him though, i saw Shaq on ESPN news before the series and he was calling Duncan a "Legend" and things like that but no they are definately not friends at all.
Agree with all of it. I think there is mutual respect. I think Duncan is friendlier and more approachable by other players. I think Shaq is the most arrogant thing I've ever come across. And I definitely think Duncan was, and still is, a threat to Shaq. But at this point of his career all Shaq had was his mouth to shoot off about how dominate he is. Duncan had his game to prove it.
This series should be the end of the Duncan/Shaq conversation.
Yep, you did and you were absolutely right. I've never been more happy to be dead wrong
But yeah, he is the best player this franchise has ever had. He's irreplaceable and I dread the day when he retires.
Tim's window may be closing, but if Mahinmi and/or Splitter turn into good players, it will give him a few more years to contend.
