Satan would actually make a really good VP.
The Democrats could nominate Satan and Chalupa would support him. Why act objective if you aren't?
Satan would actually make a really good VP.
Most aren't. That's the point.
And being a good speech giver isn't a bad thing ... it's actually a very good thing.
Yeah, no kidding. But the level of pressure is sure to rise, no?
Neither Obama nor McCain are flawless. However, thinking in such a way sure isn't how the game of politics is played in America, so I apologize . . .
Definitely she'll want to become a tasmanian she-devil campaigner for someone she dislikes on a personal basis, someone who promised to help her retire her 24 million dollar campaign debt, and thus far has helped to the tune retiring a whopping 2% of it (500 thousand), and someone that may stand in her way of a 2012 run for the White House.
I don't see it.
I could see a lot of women liking her as a pick. She's got five kids, a working mother, self-made, and attractive. I just don't know how the experience thing is going to play out, but we'll see.
She's definitely more personable than Hutchinson or Rice would have been, so in that respect she was the best female candidate. I just think it was a forced pick. As if McCain wanted to pick a female so bad, he made a decision that maybe wasn't the best decision.
It's not for Obama, it's for herself. That's the point of it.
I don't know if they will, but the Dems can start asking why he didn't ask a slew of much more accomplished women in his party first. Snowe, Hutchinson, Rice, all those. Did he ask them and they turned him down? Or did he bypass some of the qualified people in his party - and why? For a pretty face?
Why would you be offended? Do you really think your mayor is as qualified to run the country as the mayor of a big city? Really?
They're the instant-outrage party. They do it between bouts of whining.
TPark is as soft as Charmin. He'd get offended if you pointed out he wasn't offended.
Regardless fo their reasoning (they are supposed to be going after votes, right?), she's going to appeal to a significant number of Hillary supporters, get over it.
To top it off, they now have a virtual lock with conservatives.
Win-Win for McCain.
Fun Fact: John McCain is 23 years older than the state of Alaska.
Some reaction from Palin's own party in Alaska
Right back at ya buddy.
Obama spent a good portion of his life without a dad, should have been aborted huh? I have a step-son whose biological father walked away before he was born, he should have been terminated?
There has to be multiplied millions of people that did just great without having their biological dad around.
Idiot!
Her being attractive (and yes, she most definitely is) works against Repubs in terms of getting the woman vote IMO. We all know about how women are easily jealous of hot chics.
I also think many women would have a tough time accepting that someone like Palin with a very pedestrian resume to date could come out of nowhere and become VP whereas a trailblazer like Hillary is left out in the cold, so to speak.
I really don't think Palin helps with the Hillary voters. Many will rightly or wrongly see this pick as patronizing towards them.
None of this even mentions that when it comes to actual issues that affect women, Palin is about as socially conservative and right-wing as you can get (abortion, guns, etc).
It's pretty shocking that in a tight race McCain would make such a huge risk. And it's pretty sad that the much more qualified candidate, Mitt Romney, was passed over likely because he's a Mormon. Shameful placating by McCain, but that's the McCain he's becoming since 2000. Romney had some serious economic chops, which is the argument McCain needed to really make to win this election IMO. Palin does little to help in that regard.
Satan is already VP.
Why would he do otherwise?
So let's make sure we got the tally right.
Obama's VP was announced a few weeks ago and now has a 4 page thread in this forum.
McCain's VP was announced today and has a 19 page thread in this forum and a 4 page thread in the club.
Win for McCain.
The Spurs trading Scola had a 50-page thread.
Win for Spurs...?
Pagecount = win? Does this mean the 9/11 truthers win too?
Are you parroting some political hacks opinions about the debates, or are you forming these nonsensical conclusions all by yourself?
Intelligent people will judge the outcome of a debate after it's taken place, but regardless of their outcome, VP debates have never been the deciding factor in who takes the White House.
Why does everyone act as though this person or that person is not good enough when you have a someone like Bush in office? Where was all this concern four years ago?
If Biden was caustic in a debate, to the degree that he had Palin in tears, would that help or hurt Obama?
me
but I want romney in 2012
This woman doesn't take from anyone. Biden should give her his best shot, I think she'll bite back.
Strategically, this is the best pick McCain could make.
