Hairston's a better offensive player than Bowen, a better rebounder, and with the way Bowen's looked after two games, it's entirely possible that Hairston's a better defender as well.
You're reasoning for Hill not playing was...
http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/show...=108396&page=8Hill is injured...
If you want to hang your hat on me misspelling Farmer, that's cool. Everyone makes typos but don't pretend like you are a ing genius when you can't even see Hill could get on the floor if he showed Pop enough to deserve it...

The spurs need to rebound better as a team. I know their defense hasn't been all that good but everytime they do get a stop they can't rebound the ball.
I don't think we will be that far back...but if we are we will have plenty of time to make up some ground. I completely agree with you on the type of player we need. When people talk about the Spurs making some kind of trade in the middle of the season its that type of player I would hope we would bring in.
That's the whole point. Pop wouldn't have played him tonight so it's not really worth talking about.
Watkins on the other hand. Do you think Pop would have put him out there if he was on the team?
arguing If the spurs were gonna draft batum or not is moot because you'll never know their true intent
now THAT is low.
As short handed as our front line is? I believe he would have had no other choice.
Exactly. He's injured.
Wait, you think because he's medically cleared to play and he's suited up that he's not injured. Ha, priceless!
He showed enough during the preseason you gigantic wart on the collective asses of this forum. If you want to hang your hat on me misspelling Farmer, that's cool. You actually think Pop would rather have Vaughn playing instead of Hill after what he showed in the preseason?
Again, DO YOU LIKE LOOKING LIKE A STUPID ASS?
I would be less pissed off if Mason took the shot and missed.
Sorry, but you can't say that it's not worth talking about Hairston and then bring up Watkins, who was the first cut. If Pop doesn't want defenders then he's not going to have defenders on the team. I'm not backing away from what I've been saying since training camp that it's a mistake to choose offense over defense, particularly with so many defenders on this team getting up there in age.
Bonner, Thomas and Bruce was awful. That's bad when you can say Farmer played a better game than those guys.
Hairston is not a Spur. Get over it and move on.
if hill had not injured himself he would be playing thinking he's not playing because pop doesn't think he's good is inaccurate
why not cut him now and possibly bring in Watkins or a another big to help out? No one knows how Watkins would do in the reg season, but I think it's going to become a theme of the Spurs having problems with interior help again with Thomas and even a healthy Oberto. Hopefully, Ian is useful but as much as everybody loves Oberto I think he's the same liability that Thomas is on quicker big men. I understand it's only 2 games, but defense seems to be our weakness right now more than scoring.
This is a discussion board. Get over it or go somewhere else.
I thought farmer was horrible don't know what you were watching
Hairston was so good he had half the NBA claim him off waivers.
Oh wait . . .
Farmer made a basket, so in the current philosophy that makes him super awesome.
we need the same thing we've needed for years. another athletic big man who can help Duncan. oberto's return will help, but thomas looks like he may be ineffective....please, basketball gods, let the spurs trade for a good big man.
Yet he's still a better defender than three or four of the guys on this team have been through two games.
I bring it up because we need bigs more than shooting guards. Hairston has Bruce and Ime in front of him, two players that Pop would consider superior defenders. Mason too.
Watkins on the other hand can probably do some stuff none of the other bigs on our team can do. That's why I bring it up. Hairston is not that big of a need.
We just played 2 teams with athletic frontcourts exactly at the worst time, when our frontcourt is thin due to injuries and other external factors. Oberto should be back next week and hopefully Tolliver will be back too. We also have Ian coming back soon.
Even Portland initially thought Batum would play in the D-League - why can't our FO get their crap together and start evaluating players by using their time machine.
It's not worth talking about because Pop as the game went on wanted scoring tonight. Hairston like Bowen wouldn't have seen the light of day in the 4th.
