Spurs +500 payout <-- Underdog

Cavs +200 payout <-- Underdog
Lakers +80 payout <-- Favorite
Underdog beats Favorite=Upset
according to you
if this isn't homer talk, dunno what is
Starting this thread was stupid to begin with.
Sure, Kobe hasn't won since Shaq left, but he was still a contributor during the 3-peat.
The guy was part of the dynamic duo; Shaq wouldn't have won without Kobe either.
And to be fair, Kobe had a ty team around him after Shaq, GP and Malone left
and the billion (trillion?) dollar betting industry.

they go off of one factor: odds. The odds don't specify whether or not a matchup would be a major upset or not, only which team is favored to win.
Zosa's Homer's Paradise Casino:
Spurs -1000 payout
Celtics -800 payout
Cavs -400 payout
Lakers +5000 payout
you're just too much of a homer that you misread the "major" part when you got all butthurt someone disagreed with you.
Oh, so now you realize it is an upset but want to differentiate between different kinds of upsets.
Ok.....I'm a homer. Just go have a look at the posts by your fellow Spurs fans today. Those are the posts of a team that is winning it all.

i clearly said major upset from the first reply I made. you're the one who can't read
you should learn english.
^^ lol, pathetic edit. I could give a what a handful of spurfan's opinions are, first and foremost.
second, it has literally NOTHING to do with Cavs or Boston beating LA not equalling a major upsetBoston are the defending champs, no matter what vegas odds have going, they're the team to beat.
Sure you can say I'm a homer, let's have a look at your fellow Spurs fans who think the Spurs are winning it all this year:

There are some real tasty tidbits on your champion Spurs there.
Some of my favorites "The Boys are toast, dudes"
Yup obviously no major upset there.
again, i give <2 s about what the cliffjumpers in the Spurs forum are saying.
Ah yes, Zosa's world, Spurs 2009 Champs, Uber-Favorites and team of the next 10 decades.
Yes.
Allanon's world, where the defending champs beating LA is a major upset.
Only a few $billion on the line in my world.
Boston +400
Lakers +80
04-05 Laker odds before the season: 5/2
your world can be full of , last I checked Kobe didn't make the playoffs that year.
you're a big fan of hollinger.
The Jazz, Hornets, Mavs, Blazers, or Nuggets beating the Lakers in the playoffs would be a major upset.
The Celtics are defending champs. Those guys beating LA would not be a major upset. The Cavs have arguably the best player in the league and the best record in the league. If they were to beat LA in the Finals would anyone in the basketball world be shocked? I doubt it.
The Celtics are underdogs because they are missing KG and his health is questionable. Vegas is giving bettors a +400 return...that's crazy high.
The Spurs are underdogs because the health of Manu and Duncan is questionable. Vegas is giving bettors a +500 return...that's super-duper high.
The Cavs are underdogs because the health of Ben Wallace is questionable and the Cavs were blown out by the Lakers twice. Vegas is giving bettors +200 return, that's also high. Not as high but they are obviously underdogs to the Lakers and would be a major upset to win.
Thus the Lakers are the clear favorites with the only healthy team.
cmon man, show some respect to the defending champs. if lakers do win this year, they would be favs for next. Deal?
Defending champs always > betting odds. One is fact and the other is conjecture.
To be the man, u have to beat the man. Just looking like u may beat the man is not enough. (See Dallas 2007).
