I know someone is about to cue the Jordan effect, so I will get this out of the way. People say the only reason the rox won back to back is because Jordan retired. 1st, those people must really believe that Jordan would have won 8 in a row, because I don't. Second, the Rox matched up well with the Bulls in that time, but started to get torched by Jordan when Barkley and Pippen arrived. Third, Jordan said himself that the Rockets would have been their toughest matchup in 93-94, and 94-95.

Hakeem would make Duncan look worse than he made Robinson look. Then again, Duncan would not have accepted the challenge of guarding Hakeem. Rasho, Bonner, and other stiffs would have been given the task. "I'm a power forward for christs sake."

What other argument could you make other than Hakeem being better defensively by a slight margin if you compare both their defensive primes. Duncan's been more consistent though.

It would be pretty close. Hakeem was great as was Duncan. Duncan led the team in points, rebounds, blocks, and assists for playoffs i think. Plus 21, 20, 10, and 8 in game 6 of finals to win the championship is a game for the ages.

What? Hakeem went once in that era. Bird and Magic had long since retired by Hakeem's second finals trip, and Isiah retired that season. Don't tell me you thought Hakeem was on the 81 team that went to the finals.

^ Don't be fooled by the names you see. Robinson was in his late 30s and about to retire. Parker was still young and undependable, often losing minutes to Claxton. Ginobili was a rookie.

I still think the 2003 Spurs would win, but I think the 2005 team was the best.
