This was a good trade for the Celtics, from a long-term perspective, and it won't be a significant downgrade for this season, if they sign Rasheed, they won't lose anything IMO..
I've been one of the biggest Green haters since he was drafted, so I'm not high on him, but he might learn a thing or 2, playing with KG, Pierce, Allen and playing for Doc Rivers..he still has some potential, he gives the Celtics some athleticism..I don't think much of him at all, but at least he gives them a different dimension..
Perkins is a great screen setter, a great 1 on 1 defender and a very good team defender..however, he doesn't look the same since his injury, he's a horrible offensive player, and he's undoubtedly going to get overpaid..any team that overpays Kendrick Perkins is foolish, and Boston avoided it..he has injury concerns, and he's never going to develop any offensive ability, he's not worth the $ that he's going to get..he's going to get more than what Brendan Haywood got(depending on the CBA, obviously), which is too much, especially as the NBA continues to get faster..
Rasheed only playing for half a season will give you most of what Perkins gives you, especially since Perkins may not be fully recovered from injury, and you don't have to pay Perkins, from a long-term perspective..they're both mediocre offensive players, but Rasheed will still give you very good post D, he knows the system, and he has experience, he'll be fine..
Krstic is a solid bench big man..
