I think Thomas to Baylor is a very realistic possibility. Seems to be between y'all and Oklahoma State if Texas doesn't offer.
I am digging Baylor's secondary class so far. They just picked up Ryan Reid of Sherman today. I'm a little surprised by this since he's been about OU for so long.

Nate Heupel (Sooner) over on the 'Cosm loves Reid. I'm a little surprised OU lost a recruit to Baylor. Good pick up for the Bears. I'd probably trade Griffin, Reid and Coleman for Echols and Duke Thomas.
Baylor has also picked up DE Dominique Banks from Denton.

I don't think so since Smith is scheduled to commit before his high school season begins in August. Alabama or Auburn there. Surely Akina knows that one is over outside of a major break.
Not only is it difficult to figure out what the staff is thinking for that last DB spot because there are so many good prospects to target, but I wonder if they're struggling with deciding to offer a CB or S type. They've yet to offer a true safety in this class and both Echols and Thomas are under six feet. Blake seems to fill that void perfectly, but the staff is obviously waiting to make an offer to any of these guys for a reason (or a couple of reasons).
It's pretty clear Blake is waiting on that UT offer despite not publicly stating it, so maybe he'll get it if he visits Austin before the season starts. Brandeis starts their two-a-days next week so he'll need to fit it in before then unless he can manage a weekend trip. Heavy hitters are going to come after him as his stock will only go higher, so hopefully UT makes a move during the first few weeks of the season (if not sooner) should Blake be their guy.
^^^^^
ATH Corey Coleman and DB Landon Collins are only making things harder for the staff since they've both been blowing up the camp circuit and 7-on-7 events.
Couple more things....
*For those of you already planning your weekends around football games, WR Dorial Green-Beckham and his Hillcrest team will be playing their season opener on Saturday, August 27th on ESPN. I don't have a time for that yet but just a heads up.
*Good news on WR Cayleb Jones. That finger he hurt in Orlando a few weeks ago will not require surgery and there isn't any ligament damage. He doesn't expect to be at 100% for a while, but he will be on the field when Austin High starts their two-a-days next week.
This is from Orange Bloods regarding the AD meeting today if anyone is interested
Word from the Big 12 athletic directors' meeting is that DeLoss Dodds did a lot of the talking and helped to allay some of the fears of the rest of the league.
The ADs met out at the DFW airport and met pretty much all day. But the meeting is over now.
Here are the two big developments from the meeting.
--There will be no high school football games on the Longhorn Network. Not for the immediate future. And maybe not ever. I was told there is "a moratorium" on such games on LHN - even if the NCAA comes back and says it's OK.
For the short term, having no high school games on the LHN is meant to keep the peace in the Big 12. That's what a top source told me.
--Also, Texas laid out how it plans to share some revenue through appearance fees if LHN is to get more than one football game - a conference game - on the air.
Basically, Texas has up to 6 appearances available each season on ABC. And every game that appears on the LHN would count as one of those appearances on ABC. So if Texas were to get two games on LHN, it would have only four appearances available on ABC.
So it's possible that more than two games could appear on LHN going forward, and there might even be a second game this season. But it would also require approval from the other Big 12 school involved. And that could shrink the pool of schools willing to appear on LHN to those who: A) struggle with visibility, and/or B) revenue.
But the sources I talked to said the meeting was productive and that there appears to be no threat at the moment of schools still threatening to bust up the Big 12 over LHN - i.e., a school like Texas A&M bolting for the SEC.
Stay tuned.
Sorry, don't really wanna spam the board with Auburn stuff, especially because I still don't think Auburn is a major player for DGB. It's early in the process, though, so who knows
First, Zeke Pike, Auburn's big time QB commit and Dorial are friends. Zeke came into town at the same time so they could see each other. He later tweeted that "I think we got a great shot at my boy, #DGB"
Kiehl Frazier, Auburn's big QB commit from last year, also got to know DGB and they exchanged info.
Rolled onto the plains with 9 of his family members (think he always brings a lot of family on recruiting trips)
excellent background article from STL Today http://www.stltoday.com/sports/colle...f3f4ec607.html
Best guess is still OU/Ark/Mizzou. He's said he wants to stay close to home
i heard a month or so ago DGB was tight was gunnar kiel and the ou contingent saying they would both go there together. but my cousin knows kiel via camp circuit and kiel told him he never even met DGB. point being internet rumors are just that. all the top recruits all go to camps and are 'friends', so i wouldn't take what your recruits tweet as religion. they got their rose colored glasses on as do you or i.
i would be really surprised if he doesn't end up at mizzou from my limited inside knowledge, even ou is on outside looking in, although their chance magnitudes over bama/texas/ark/auburn
Locals in Missouri seem to like the Tigers' chances. I'd rather be chasing Mizzou than OU. The official visits loom large.
As I said before, at the beginning of my post (and despite the zeke tweet), I really don't think Auburn is a player here. Simply relaying information
I take almost everything I hear with a grain of salt when it comes to these kids, unless it's from the horse's mouth, and even then...symple19
Best guess is still OU/Ark/Mizzou. He's said he wants to stay close to home
And yeah, from what I know, Zeke is friends with DGB from the camp circuit. How good of friends? Who knows.
This guy is gonna be ridiculous wherever he goes. Probably good enough to get a quarterback into the NFL on his own. I typically wouldn't say that kind of thing about a high-school kid, but he looks to be a legit freak. I'm happy with him landing anywhere but Bammer or Ark, cus' I don't wanna see him streaking through the Auburn secondary in the future
Per a rumor on OrangeBloods, it looks like WR Brock Fitzhenry will not be returning ot the team after all. He's going to finish up his degree this school year and will still be on scholarship, but he won't be considered a member of the team. I'm not sure how this affects the final 85-man limit, but I'll let you know when something definitive comes out.
Welcome to the thread.
I agree that Mizzou just feels like the team to beat. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if he ended up there since Green-Beckham appears to be a family-oriented kid who prefers to stay close to home. He'll have a clear path to the pros wherever he attends school outside of a major injury.

Update on some of the big 2012 out-of-state targets. In the section on Agholor, that particular UT commitment roomed with him at The Opening in Oregon and also spent time with him at the Champion Gridiron Kings in Orlando. A bit of sobering news, but things still look promising.
at this point i would consider DGB picking mizzou a big win just to keep him out of norman. the guy is a freak, but obviously receiver is not the biggest need. although after watching last year we obviously are of need of playmakers the caliber of DGB and agholor.
speaking on the front of biggest needs, was glad to see the 'cosm predicts we lead for peat. hard to not envision him getting on the field his freshman year with his talent and the need.
still puzzled by lack of news on us pursuing rush DE.
thanks for all the updates floss, have been reading this post for quite a while and you have some great info.
rivals now have front page story with connor brewer in picture and refers to his stock slipping. probably not a shocker since by all accounts he is not a guy that is geared towards the camp circuit.

The summer camp season is over and following our look at prospects with rising stock, we look at some prospects whose stock slipped some, including Scottsdale (Ariz.) Chaparral QB Connor Brewer.
DGB notes, Hook'Em247-
TEXAS
In regards to his trip to Austin, Green-Beckham said, “there’s going to be great people pretty much everywhere I go, but I like the facilities, I liked the coaches, I try to get real close with the coaches, the players, just to see what it’s like, to see what I’ll be comfortable with because those people I’ll be around for three to four years when I get there. I like to check out the things like that to see how the players and coaches are going to treat me before I make a decision.”
AUBURN
“There’s a lot that I figured out about Auburn,” he said. “I liked the people around there, I liked the town, everything. But I’ll have to see what other choices will be. But I liked it down there, it’s real nice down there. The players are real cool, the coaches are good and pumped so I liked it down there.”
So basically, he says the same about every school.

My bad. Bond is a late addition to 2011.

Cool. Speaking of basketball commits, Gerry Hamilton says that there is a good chance that PF Kevin Thomas will not be eligible. This would hurt considering the lack of depth next season.
I actually edited my post. Bond is 2011, so there's your answer for Thomas.
pretty much
Off topic are you guys going to do the collage pick em again
a collage pick em'?
sure
Which one do you like best?
personally, I like the second... You?
