That's good news. Thanks.
With Splitter being somewhat of a disappointment in FIBA Americas, at least it's good to know other prospects did well.
So Seraphin???
He still makes a lot of defensive mistakes (no more than Traoré) but add 1 more year of experience, he has GREAT hands and a hughe body!
I don't know who's place he takes though...
That's good news. Thanks.

Diaw, Florent Pietrus, Noah and Turiaf are locks to make the team at PF/C. Behind them, there will have one spot available. For the moment, I'm going with Traoré because he is the best scorer and the rest of the frontcourt is offensively challenged.
Now, it's sure that Olympics games are in 1 year and a lot will depend on what happens next year. Séraphin or Mahinmi could take Traoré spot. On the perimeter players like Diot, Kahudi or even Fournier could take one spot.
you know what I actually watched the games and I tell you Parker played some very good basketball during this euro and he played some very good defense too.
Spanish front court would dominate most of nba teams front court btw, when you are pg playing behind that kind of interior force make your life a little bit easier.
Anyway you haven't seen one single game so youre venting on nothing but yeah we agree
Greece
Italy
Being defended by Tony Parker helps tooI guess its good to hear that he played well in the rest of the games but not enough for this one. I don't think anyone thought France would really win against Spain though including homers. Spain's frontcourt is too great of an advantage and their backcourt is more than serviceable in the Euro's but probably not so much in the NBA.

True like others in this thread I didn't watch but I had to correct ya about my "bashing". Carry on.

He actually was good enough, the supporting cast wasn't...
None of us are saying he was Magic or anything, just that he was really good and that from a spurs fan perspective, it's nice to see his progress (in term of leadership for instance).
If you don't watch the games, at least learn how to read a boxscore. You keep mensioning his 5TO for example, but you forget to notice his 4ST! and it goes on..
You're pathetic, not because you don't agree with me, because even hidden behind your computer you still don't assume you opinion/hate...![]()
I've watched some, not particularly Spain lately. The NBA is just much more superior.
Do you get to watch much Euro basketball in Houston?
USA won gold medals, so their alleged cheating paid off.
When is it going to pay off for the Greek-Americans?
Makes sense, IMO crofl
Why are you mad that all Argentina's players are born and raised in Argentina?
Argentina has pride and would never play an American-born player.
And what does the Greek-American have to show for their cheating?![]()
What did he ever win in the NBA?
He coattailed the dream team in barcelona for a gold medal.
tbh, that's what players that have played in Greece have to do to win one.
NBA >>>>>>>>>>>> Spain > Russia > NBDL > Italy > France > Argentina >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Greece
I agree.
Some players will probably not be available, so it is probably too early to think about who will make the team.
But, the problem is that even with Turiaf, our frontcourt will not make it against Spain. I we want to go to the next level, our bigs need to step up big time.
Noah should be better with more FIBA experience and Turiaf will certainly help. But we will need more.
If one of Traoré/Seraphin/Mahinmi does not improve drastically, no matter who Collet will pick.
My two cents is Seraphin will make the team.
One thing I am worried about is the impact of the lockout.
Diaw (and maybe Turiaf) for instance is supposed to play in the French Pro B... this is not good IMHO... I can't see him being in shape and ready for big games if he is to stroll in the Pro B for the whole season.
no medal
no olympics (yet)
no pride
cheating and still losing
Macedonia >>>>>>>>> Greece
Greek-Americans
Where were they born?
Argentina won olympic gold medal with all Argentina-born players
Argentina won olympic bronze medal with all Argentina-born players
Argentina won Worlds gold medal with all Argentina-born players
Argentina is in the Olympics with all Argentina-born players
Argentina just won more gold with all Argentina-born players
Greece
never won an olympic medal
never won gold at the worlds
using American-born players and still failing
using German money to play and still failing
"everyone knows it"
bitter
always kicked in the ass by Argentina
not good enough
not in the olympics
no medal for Greek-Americans
At least they were all born in Argentina.
Where was Peja born?
all home grown
all Argentina born and raised
mad about Argentina >>>>>>>>> Greece
Where was Peja born?
You're lying. Prove it.
Where was Peja born? Answer the question.
bitter
embarrassed
liar
broke
still no medal
still no olympics
Peja still born in Serbia
Editing their wikipedia page and changing place of birth doesn't make it true. Argentina used their own players, Greece used Americans like you.
lol son, you're maaaaaaddddd
fake passports
Agree, even at full strength, France won't be as good as Spain but they would be significantly closer. Turiaf would have helped inside against the Gasols, Bokolo could have slow down Navarro, Beaubois could have bring some scoring form the bench, Pietrus and a healthy Gelabale would have also help the team.
A realistic goal for the Olympics is to be the third best team behind Spain and USA. If they are healthy, they have a real shot at getting the bronze medal.
To be at the level of Spain, France will need to have a bigman good on both sides of the court. Noah, Turiaf and Florent Pietrus suck on Offense. Traorés sucks on Defense. Diaw is Diaw.
Séraphin and Mahinmi are the best canddidate sot be that good 2 way bigman. Like you, I would give an edge on Séraphin even more because he will play in Spain during the lockout and these young bigs need to play. Ajinça is also worth keeping an eye on because of his huge upside.
Uh....unless this boxscore was wrong (http://www.eurobasket.com/boxScores/...18_ESP_FRA.asp), it was the guy that Parker defended that had 4 steals, not Tony. You might want to rethink your boxscore comment. Did you watch the game? Perhaps some didn't get counted but the numbers are what they are.
Why the would you even mention Magic. As a Spurs fan its not good that TP still has problems with turnovers and Jose lit up the court with his shooting but to each their own.
And if you'd notice my turnover comment also made note of how both the Spurs and French frontcourt got manhandled so it wasn't all about the infamous Tony Parker.
Like several others in this thread I am not a fan of Tony Parker and never claimed otherwise. I'm not a master of English either but you and that other Frenchie (Brazil?) need to work on your reading comprehension. I had to correct both of you guys, pathetic. You're pathetic, not because you don't agree with me, because even hidden behind your computer you still don't assume you opinion/hate...![]()
Carry on bashing Greece.
